I’m surprised this actually works good
I used it to get warm water to an outside spout. It works great for this.

A must have for a young baby!
In the bathroom I have a tower so my young baby can climb on his own and wash himself. I purchased the tower when he was about 10 months old. This mixing valve is absolutely essential to ensure that the baby does not scald himself. It mixes the hot and cold water at a chosen ratio, which means that the final temperature will be constant and it will be the same regardless of which faucet handle my son turns. My setup: the hot and cold water lines go in, the valve mixes them at the temperature that I want, then water at the right temperature comes out. Next, I have a T valve that splits the line in two, going into the faucet.

NPT unless you need NPS
NPT and NPS have the same thread angle, shape, and pitch (threads per inch). However, NPT threads are tapered and NPS threads are straight. Don't buy the NPS Thermostatic Mixing Valve unless you need straight threads, If you need NPT tapered no washer needed only thread seal buy the valve with NPT and no need to use the leaking fittings to change from NPS to NPT as almost all of the one star reviews did. Also a one star pointed out no directions come with valve for installation, the C on valve is for Cold water the H is for Hot water and the arrow is for warm mixed water out to fixture, and the red button lets you go over 100 degree water supply to fixture. The pointer is to set water temperature by turning the valve to the temperature you want. I put NPT to PEX fittings using tape on the NPT turned on the hot and cold water no drips worked great. set valve to 86 degrees, has a full flow and works great. I never tested to see if cold water fails if valve shuts down and I don't know if it fails to cold so I would not use it for anyone with any impairment that may scald them unless I checked that out first?

Connections are a little funky.
Not sure why, but this has 1/2" hose threaded connections. It isn't 1/2" pipe thread on the body of the valve. There are three adapters included to convert from 1/2" hose to 1/2" pipe, which I used. The hose washers are soft too, so when tightening up the connections to hold the valve in place, the washers got compressed too much and leaked. I put on new washers, didn't tighten up the connections as much, but then the unit moves around rather easily when adjusting the temperature. I would have preferred it was the other way around, that is to say, 1/2" NPT on the body of the valve, and then adapters to 1/2" hose threads (which I wouldn't need to use). The quality of the unit is top notch, does a great job tempering the temperature to what I want, but it's these hose threads made little sense to me.

Works perfectly
Balances hot and cold pressure nicely and keeps a steady temperature.

Will not pass inspection
Do not buy. Will not pass inspection. Had to purchase from Grainger. Inspectors failed this. Not to standards

Works Well
Incorrect product description. Threads are straight (NPS), not tapered (NPT). Product leaks when connected to an NPT fitting.UPDATE: Had another go and cranked the 1/2 fittings on for all I was worth--no leaks. Device works perfectly for my application, prevent toilet sweating. Like that the temperature can be set down to ~68 F, some others cannot go that low.

IT worked, Then it didn't
I've had this in my RV for a couple of years now . I was working very well until now , It just stopped regulating the temperature .Sometimes it cold water , then it's very hot water.. I don't know why it stopped working good. But I like it when it was working good..I would think it should work more then a couple of summers camping..😕
