The Little Book of Pin-Up Elvgren

What a great little book! I paid around $3 for this new and what a deal it was! This guy was quite the artist. This is a great book to have lying around as a pick me up. If you are down and out feeling that life isn't worth living, just pickup this book! Yes it is! I should have bought more they would make great Xmas presents!

A great book about one of the best artists in history. Small enough to take with me so I can look at some great art while eating my My Big Mac.

An excellent book of beautiful women. The art and photo color of the women is clear and outstanding!! Highly recommended as is The Little Book of Driben. I bought both and so glad that I did. Get a copy while you can!

Comprehensive yet small have multiple books covering the artist. You d works in here that are in none of the others. And it doesn't take up the entire coffee table.

Really wonderful drawings, with a wide variety of themes. However, all the ladies are white, and with approximately the exact same body shape. I'm sure this has to do with the time these were first drawn in, but it is too bad. For the price, not a bad purchase, hence the 4 stars. If you seek diversity though, buy some other books in addition or skip this one entirely.

I love how the author shows where he is getting his inspiration from in the photo of the model compared to the finished painting.

How could you not buy this book for the price it's at? If you are into pin up art this is a must have.

Great little book

El tamaño del libro es muy agradable, pues aunque para ver ilustraciones, pinturas o fotografías siempre se aprecian más en grande, la verdad es que este formato es muy disfrutable. Si ya tienes algun otro libro o posters de Elvgren en un formato mas grande, éste no queda sobrando. Tiene varios bocetos y comparaciones de las fotos de sus modelos y a un lado la pintura terminada. El acomodo y diseño editorial también es muy limpio (en comparación con otro libro (the complete pinups) donde vienen muy amontonadas y encimadas y el formato grande en algunos casos no se aprovechó del todo. En éste, viene una obra por hoja, lo cual es bueno. El acabado de la pasta suave es de calidad.

Elvgren, tout comme Frazetta, étaient des illustrateurs qui ont marqué leur temps et des générations futures !!!Ils faisaient des toiles à l'huile de grands formats (qui sont aujourd'hui vendues des petites fortunes) et c'est pourquoi il est dommage que le format de ce livre soit si petit...
