Caution, this item is not a heat pump. Amazon has it incorrectly listed as a heat pump, but it is not. It is only an AC unit and does not have the reversing valve required for heat pump operation.Unfortunately, it took several weeks to get a qualified installer, and my 30-day free return window has expired.In the pictures above, the new AC from Amazon is on the left and does not have a reversing valve. Look closely at the picture on the right and you can see the reversing valve for heat pump operation.Do your homework and look up the Dometic model number.

Installation was straightforward. Worked correctly first time. As with all Dometic a/c units you should contact them to make sure that the unit is a correct replacement as models change.

RV Supply sold a defective unit. To be fair, it was in the box brand new and could have come from the factory defective. A little disheartening to go 2 months without heat or air to finally get the new unit installed and it’s defective. They included no paperwork so the factory will not accept it on warranty. Amazon guaranteed return and received it on 12/21/2020 but has yet to acknowledge they have it at their warehouse. We had it tracked to the Amazon warehouse. Amazon has not refunded and stated 01-04-2021 it would refund but it has not. Double zero on this item. Recommend Camping World.

An absolute gem. It was super easy to install and works like a charm. Much quieter than my factory unit and cools much better. Glad I went with the high capacityWell worth the little extra money

The Amazon description is wrong for this product. I wish I would have read the reviews before buying it. It is A/C only, not A/C - Heat Pump. It has no heat function. I would have given one star review instead of 2, except Amazon refunded my purchase upon return of the unit.

The correct a/c arrived and surprisingly had no damage, you really don't want to call Dometic Customer Service, it's bad.... really bad. I have installed many Dometic products and am not a fan however there aren't many choices especially when it comes to air conditioners. Carrier RV unit is gone, Dometic bought Duo-Therm, Coleman ... well it's not one I would purchase. The cover has 4 screws that hold it on, the back two were stripped out. I drilled new holes and also added two more screws on each side near the front for added security. The unit actually installs relatively easy (I also added the Dometic drain kit since my trailer has a drain tube in the wall and out the bottom of the RV preventing condensation running over the edge of the RV. My BIG complaint about the Dometic A/C is they are excessively loud, very very loud. Dometic could fix that but why would they? They have very little competition. The ceiling assembly could also be redesigned to flow the air much better and would even eliminate much of the noise. I usually take out all the plastic parts that the air whistles across and then line the inside with Dyna-mat as well as the channel from the squirrel cage fan to help reduce noise. My DB meter showed several DB reduction but the unit is still unnecessarily loud. The ceiling assembly can blow straight down fairly effectively but if it happens to be in an area where you stand a lot... like the kitchen range, it's blowing down your back. If you close the down vent and open the front, rear and side vents so much air is restricted you cannot keep your RV cool. Hopefully someday there will be a better choice from a company that appreciates their customers.

The A/C is obviously well engineered, but manufacturing was moved from the USA to Mexico and they are having manufacturing/packaging / shipping problems. The base plate or tub to which everything is mounted was bent in several places. The foam that seals the unit to the RV roof was mounted on the underside of the base plate offset so that it is not centered over the RV roof. I know this because I replaced an old unit that was centered with the new unit. The shroud was cracked in 3 places starting at the mounting bolts and the bolt holes were bent. We tried to use the unit despite these problems, but in the end there were just too many. We returned the unit and used another of the same model that was less damaged. The only reason I'm using the other unit is these things are hard to get these days and the RV needs an AC.

Got it installed and found out after that this model does not have heat pump!! AC works great!!! But save your money buy cheaper one!They are supposed to be fixing that in the description!
