Works for stereo out on a guitar pedal to headphones
I used this to connect the stereo out on a guitar pedal directly to headphones and worked perfectly. It does not produce noise like hissing or whining.

Just what I expected
Great, simple little TRS to TS breakout. The TS ends are clearly color coded and also labeled tip and sleeve. It has molded plastic ends which cannot be repaired if it breaks, but that's what I expect at this price point.

good product and customer service
Update: was eventually able to reach seller who exchanged the product with no problem. Amazon made the process difficult.Ring lead does not work. Tried to return but Amazon will not let me.

Didn't work for me
I bought this to merge my keyboards left and right outputs into one signal to go to a powered speaker. It worked for headphones and a recorder but with the speaker, sounds that were centered came out weird, left or right only were fine, and the bass was missing. It only worked properly with a 3.5mm to xlr cable with an adapter. I tried like 3 other cables both xlr ended and 1/4 and none worked. They were all trs so that couldnt be the problem and i tried with ts just in case but then of course i didn't get any right sound. I'm really puzzled. Update: Fools on me! Turns out you can't run a stereo signal to a balanced input, the adapter works fine.

Alesis Surge hack with this splitter
I wanted to add extra tom and cymbal to my alesis surge. I used this and extension cables to route the rim shot sound to another tom and cymbal. Works perfectly. Now I have 2 ride cymbals and 2 crash and 5 toms.

Hosa: a notch above
This was purchased to supply a split stereo signal in a digital audio mixer output to an IEM stereo transmitter as a backup if the cable should fail or is needed for some other left and right channel requirement. It does the job perfectly and joins other cables I have from Hosa, including some short patch snakes.
