Woodland Scenics HO 2' Track-Bed Strips (36)

I purchased this to give my track a raised look. These are cool not really as scale track goes I guess you can still lay rock over it which I plan to do. They turn ok you just have to pin it down as you use a turn track. There is plenty in the box my layout is 4x9 and I have a working track with a lot of switch track running and I still have some left over

I'm used to using cork bed for my previous train layouts. I gave this one a shot and found it was very easy to work with. It's about the same height as the cork bed if you're comparing. But again, I just found it easier to work with.

The great points about this roadbed are the fact that it’s not only very quiet, it makes layouts made with foam products come together quickly.This is especially helpful to test track plan fit, just pin into place on the foam, then pin track in place on top.

I am in the process of building a model railroad (HO scale), and even though I have a lot of previously-cut track support roadbed with cork installed, I need more.I found some sources of cork through various sources, but I've found it to be pretty expensive, even without factoring in shipping costs.I found Woodland Scenics roadbed on Amazon, which sells it for much less than other sources. so I purchased some.It's a pretty good alternative, made of foam composition, and is full width, not halves like cork.What I don't like:It's thinner than cork, so I will have to either shim end to transition to the cork, or shave the cork to transition to the foam.It comes in 2 foot strips, unlike the cork which comes in 3 foot sections.Being thinner means my rail spikes are too long and it is difficult to drive them into the plywood support.I got 2 cartons of 36 strips each (72 total), but will reconsider in the future if I stick with this, or pay extra to obtain cork roadbed
