Great things come in small packages
4 stars for how much I like the game. If we include the fact that the game is small enough to fit in any pocket or the change compartment of your car would mostly make it a 5 star. This game really fits the 'best bang for your buck' easily.The rules are easy, the game plays fast and is very tactical for what it is. Very good game, 4 stars is still very good.

Not for everyone
My boyfriend loves this one, but I gotta say I'm not a fan. It requires a lot of thinking ahead and risk-taking, which I'm not good at. But if you're into that, this is the game for you!

Great filler for 3-4 players, with balanced and polished rules that will keep it in your collection!
While GEM is one of my least played of these small games, it is honestly one of the most polished and fun when I find a group that is interested in playing a straight bidding/set collection game. The rules are simple, easy to understand and explain to new players, and they feel very balanced and refined for such a simple implementation. IF you have 3 - 4 players that enjoy competitive set collection and bidding wars, with a fair amount of resource balancing, then this is a great filler game to add to your collection! I wouldn't recommend it for 2 players, however, as the games outcome becomes much more predictable, but that is pretty common amongst bidding type games.
