Water-Based Rust Converter Metal Primer, Rust Converter - 5 Gal, 1 Count (Pack of 1)

I put two thick coats on top of my 20' container, separated by two days for applications. It really has done a great job of converting the surface rust and creating a base primer that I will rubber coat in the next week. I used a metal flat knife to chip away all of the loose rust and a wire brush for finer areas. It's a must to get loose rust and paint off before you use this product. The picture is from the beginning of my second coating.

I live on the beach on the Gulf coast. Corrosion is a major concern here. I've been using Corroseal for years. It applies easily with any modality though are usually use a brush or a spray. Wether it be a trailer, automobile, lawn equipment; it provides an excellent conversion material. Furthermore because it's water-based the cleanup is minimal. I do end up top coating with the paint and again this could be water-based or oil-based. Bottom line, it provides the best Long term protection for rust conversion.

Came with big clumps in the bottom of the bucket that wont mix. Must have been old or had been frozen. Not what you want for the price tag.

Just started using it last weekend on some rusty oil-field pipe. Ends up truning the pipe dark-brown-black. I may not even need to paint it now!

Worked well. We used on some gas pipes and then painted.
