QUIET
I bought this to make a diy air purifier from furnace filters and WOW it is quiet even at max power. Max power being 800 rpm but still, amazing. I just wish it didn't look like a prosthetic limb.

Super, super, super quiet
200mm version is super quite. Noctua makes the best fans!

Expensive, but quality
Hesitated because of the cost but I knew this brand was usually very good quality. So far it's been working great and it's very quite.I am using it to cool a Akasa "fanless" case. (go figure) But at least it's much much quieter than using a stock NUC fan!

Crazy loud at full speed
Loudest 800rpm fan on the planet. Plugging it into the Noctua low noise adapter cable makes it silent, but then there is almost zero airflow. And I do mean zero. I may try a PWM controller to see if I can find some middle ground. But Noctua's PWM controller has a silly price for what it is!

Disapointing and overpriced.
I am a big fan of Noctua and consider their fans "top of the line" in most cases. But the NF-A20 is a real exception to that rule. First of all, this is NOT a 200mm fan. Yes, the mounting holes would line up with a 200mm fans mounting holes... but note in the photo... sides of this fan balloon out, likely to accommodate a larger blade size? That's nice and wall, but as a result, if you're fan mounting was designed for a 200mm fan (which I would think is usually the case if these are the mounting holes it has) it's unlikely they made extra room when the specification clearly states the fan is smaller than 200mm on all sides. I'm both disappointed in Noctua for designing it this way, and in myself for not noticing the picture.Additionally, after I moved the fan to a less than ideal slot so as not to waste it, after less than a week it started rattling and scraping. It sounded like I had a loose cable brushing up against the blades periodically. I'd give the case a tap and it would go away. But over about a week it got worse and worse so I pulled it back out to take a look... and the problem is actually under the fan plastic, where it meats the motor. There is something loose in there that scrapes the rotating fan housing. The only things under there that could be doing that are, the wiring... and the motor windings. So whatever it is, it's definitely lead to pre-mature failure of the fan... as well as making the fan very loud and annoying, which is counter to the entire point of spending the extra money on a Noctua. I strongly recommend avoiding this product.

So big, not everyone can handle its BIGness
Replaced the top lid of a NVR with this monster fan, it's so quiet you can hear a mouse fart from across the room. Cools pretty decent too.

Extraordinary
For years I have been hearing about Noctua fans and products, but I never actually owned one. This is my first fan and I am very impressed. I had a 200mm Thermaltake fan but it was making weird squeaky/rattling noises and it was not even that quiet at 800 RPM either, to be honest. I decided to splurge a little and go for Noctua - and it was definitely worth it. Noctua at full speed makes only a pure "whoosh" sound, no squeaking, no rattling, no whistling, no whine, no high-pitch noise; just a pleasant breeze-like whoosh throughout the PWM range. And I need to focus to even hear it at 800 RPM, while pushing more air than Thermaltake. Beautiful.Highly recommended.

Very silent and effective fan
I bought two pcs for cooling of my av receiver. Now, avr works very cool.Fans are very quiet at middle level. Even at max level, you can hear them barely from seating position. So middle level is perfect and most silent level for cooling.
