Temperature Check 4-in-1 Digital Infrared Thermometer (Ear/Forehead/Ambient/Clock)

This is a nice little thermometer. Put it on the forehead temple in the ear or in the air and then power it on. When you hear the beep a second later you have the temp.

Easy to use. Switching temperature scales (defC (default)>degF) takes a little getting used to (you'll have to dig out the instruction manual if you change the battery because you'll have forgotten how to do this and the thermometer defaults to degC). As other reviewers note time is displayed as military (24hr) - which is unambiguous, but not what most people use. In ear use gives pretty consistent measurements. Contact measurements from the skin are less so (I have not used aural measurement). All-in-all a pretty sound instrument.

My wife and I went through many different digital thermometers, and none of them seemed to work... Oral, ear, forehead, it didn't seem to matter which they just never gave consistent readings and every time we would call our doctor to tell them our child was ill he would ask what was their temperature and we really couldn't tell him. Now we get a consistent reading that is as accurate as the readings we get from the doctor's office. My only complaint (and it is small) is that the forehead temperature reader doesn't work that well, which is fine because the ear temperature can be taken very quickly, less than a second, so there is no need to use the forehead reader.

Looks nice and worked for about 1 month. Do not buy unless you plan on using only occasionally and be careful not to drop .

I purchased this for myself. I tested this against a Vics oral digital thermometer and a Braun digital ear thermometer. While the ear and mouth thermometer produced the same results constantly over several intervals; the new ear/forehead thermometer produced wildly diferent results both higher and lower than the others. I would say to parents with newborns: "Not something to trust your baby's life with".

I just recived it and it is not working properly. It is not accurate at all. Every time you used you can get everything but the right temperature

Did not find it to be near as accurate as claimed. Ear temp varied up to 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit. Forehead temp up to 3 degrees less than ear and varied up to 2 degrees Fahrenheit. Got temps between 95.5 on forehead to 101 in ear at same time period. Not good!!!

Very usefull when your baby has fever because it take just a second to give you the results and normally kids don't let you do something longer than that. Great product.
