Life-Changing Wisdom Packed in One Book
I stumbled upon "The Game of Life and How to Play It" during a quest for personal growth and self-improvement, and let me tell you, it's an absolute gem. Florence Scovel Shinn's timeless insights are as relevant today as they were when the book was first written. The book is a treasure trove of practical wisdom presented in a concise and engaging manner. Shinn's ideas about the power of thoughts, affirmations, and faith resonated deeply with me. Her emphasis on aligning our thinking with our desires and trusting in the Universe's abundant possibilities is both inspiring and empowering. What I particularly appreciate about this edition is that it's the original and unabridged version, ensuring we get the full impact of Shinn's teachings. The prose is clear and accessible, making it easy to absorb the profound concepts she presents.Whether you're new to the world of self-help literature or a seasoned reader, "The Game of Life and How to Play It" offers valuable insights that can lead to positive transformations in various aspects of your life. I've already started incorporating Shinn's principles into my daily routine, and I can sense a positive shift in my mindset and circumstances. In a world filled with distractions and negativity, this book serves as a guiding light, reminding us that we have the power to shape our reality through our thoughts and beliefs. Great feel good book
Such a great book, I’ve read it many times. My take on the book is that it’s about manifesting from the universe, but the universe is God.It’s very uplifting and leaves you feeling positive and secure in life. I’d highly recommend

An invaluable and wise contribution to the field of self development, spirituality, and the Law of Attraction.
This is one of the most important books I've ever read concerning how to prosper in life in every way. The principles of right thinking and feeling right about something can't be overemphasised enough, and Florence Scovel-Shinn gives plenty of anecdotes from her experiences with clients to illustrate her points. This lady is bursting with wisdom, some of which is not reiterated or emphasised enough by other authors on topics such as the Law Of Attraction. One of the things she emphasises is following one's intuition in order to follow divine clues which lead to your desired result, no matter how strange they seem to the rational mind, and the importance of being generous and giving freely or your time and money, as well as being open to receive. In other words, never let fear dictate your thoughts or actions as it will always lead to the wrong outcome, and to aim to embody your spirituality in your everyday life with right thinking or 'dharma' to keep yourself on the right track, thereby avoiding 'sin' or 'wrong thinking'.It's written in a religous style using the Judao-Chirstian God as a philosophical basis, with references to Biblical parables. But these certainly work as psychological and symbolic models of the principles in process, and illustrate the consequences of either following the correct path of love and right thinking or the wrong path of fear and wrong thinking, leading to 'evil' or negative outcomes. But if this doesn't sit well with you it's easy to mentally substitute these words for more contemporary secular versions of God or the Divine such as 'The Universe'. I found the style inoffensive and easy to understand, and didn't hinder the delivery of the message at all. There are many books of this nature still in print or on kindle, and they all say similar things about how to get what you want out of life, but this is the first of these older books I've come across (1925) that takes heed of the little details that can trip us up if we're not careful and why and how mistakes can be made that can prevent us from manifesting what we want. The answers are simple, really, but easy to overlook as we 'fall from grace' and forget who is really in control of everything - ourselves and our connection to God or the universe, not the world we see with all of it's dramas, gossip and pettiness we can lose ourselves in.I find it helpful to take written notes of important points that I feel I need to work on in my own life, and the format makes it easy to do so, as it's well written and concise rather than repetitive as so many of these books on the subject of manifesting are.I recommend that people read this book, and try to incorporate some of the principles in their lives. The world would be a better place if wisdom such as this was common sense!

Decent
I wouldn't consider this an essential read for most people, but it is a great way to practice and learn about how to reinforce faith in your mind. Even if you are not religious, being able to have faith in something is a very powerful driver for fighting off doubt and negative emotions. So I would read it with an open mind to interpretation. Also, love the sleeves and style these publishers pick for their books. They look great on the bookcase together.
