Solid stick, 4gate, hard to disassemble
Let me start by saying I have alot of respect for madcatz contribution to the gaming communites. I was given a mad catz sf4 fight stick. I replaced the stick and buttons. I have been playing fighting games for years. I purchased this stick for my pc and ps4. In the description it says it comes with an 8 gate but after I got the stick I knew it wasn't and I ordered the 8 gate. This fight stick is not easy to disassemble the first time. There is another metal plate under the top plate. I understand it's purpose but it is a pain to unscrew. The screws for the bottom plate on the left side have nuts and no thread for the holes but the other side does(!?) After I replaced the 4 GATE I put it back together only hand tightening the lower plate screws. Now the top is boss because you can modify the top with whatever design you'd like because the top part is clear. The functionality of the fight stick is really nice and I'm honestly very happy with my purchase. Remember to get that 8 gate! Thanks a bunch and I hope this review helps

Madcatz EGO Review
The Madcatz EGO is a great arcade fight stick. The convenience of having an arcade stick that works for multiple platforms really adds value. Works with my PS4/5, Xbox One/Series X, Nintendo Switch and PC. The one thing you should know is that if you want it to work with the PS5, you have connect the arcade stick to the PS5 and have the stick also connected with a synced up PS4 controller, which they provide the cable for. The same situation has to be done as well on the Xbox Series X|S with using a Xbox controller with a micro USB port. Build quality is nice, and so are the Sanwa buttons and joystick. I fully recommend this product if you’re looking for a universal stick with high build quality and on a budget.

After 100+ hours of use..
This particular fight stick isnt the worst. i purchased it when i decided to take on fighting games a little more seriously, and have racked up more then 100 hours of use on this thing, and enough experience to give you the ups and downs.this stick is STURDY. atleast thats the impression I got when i received it. its got a good heft to it, so its certainly not going to move around on you during use.i used this thing on a variety of different games, the primary being tekken 7, the button inputs are very sensitive, needing nearly no pressure for the input, making long repetitive strings easy, but you may get some miss inputs during faster more complicated combos.the stick itself is mediocre. goodluck getting clean quarter or half circle inputs without having to do some funky back to neutral inputs between each point in the movement. (for the likes of games like street fighter, blazblue, and guilty gear)this unit is okay overall. i personally will likely look for a new replacement, but for a first stick this thing is fine. not to mention it has some room for aftermarket modifications.

Avoid like the plague!!!! Warning!
9/11/21*THIS IS AN UPDATE TO MY EARLIER REVIEW*Do NOT purchase this stick!!! It worked fine for the first week. I was satisfied and was willing to overlook the fact that I had to tether it to my PS4/XB1 controller for it to be universal. Then, over the last few days, the stick refused to work for my Xbox One and was a pain to get working on the PS4.I even reviewed the instructions to make certain I wasn’t forgetting anything. No dice. Nothing worked to get it running on my Xbox One. The LED lights flashed, but it would not work as it had, easily, only a week ago.If you’re like me and are trying to save money with one stick for two systems, just bite the bullet and buy a dedicated stick for each respective system. This thing is nothing but a $170 brick!I have kept my old review up to indicate to you all how pleased I was, initially, with this product. But be warned; it will fail and become worthless. I just can’t believe it only lasted a week in good working order.—————————————————————9/2/21So, my E.G.O. fight stick just arrived in the mail. I popped it open and was happy to see the Mad Catz quality is still here. Some people have complained that this is a rebranded stick with a little extra charge, but Amazon has it for a cheaper price than original retail. The Sanwa parts are so welcome. Everything is authentic and great quality. The body of the fight stick has a good weight to it and has sturdy rubber feet to ensure stable play. It includes a screwdriver and a usb micro cord for connectivity (more on that in a minute). It is fully customizable should you want to change out the button colors or style. The stick can also be switched out easily, as can the artwork on the top.The one thing that is a let down, but not that big of a deal, is the fact that you have to plug in a PS4 or Xbox One controller in order to get it to work with either respective system. This isn’t THAT bad as it allows you to play on both systems, along with the Switch and Xbox Series. If using it for PC, just plug it into your rig and play. This is a solid buy. Don’t listen to the haters. Being able to use it on multiple systems makes up for tethering it to a PS4 or Xbox One (Switch, Xbox Series…) controller. The construction is solid and the parts are Sanwa arcade parts. Maybe a little pricey, but it’s a pretty good stick to have.I recommend it for any fighting game fan with multiple systems.

I can't believe this works with Diablo IV
I am giving this fight stick a 5 star rating simply because of how compatible it is with different systems and being great for top down games like Diablo IV and 2d side scrolling games. It also works great with Street Fighter 6 MK 11 dead or alive 6 and soul caliber. The only problem I had to solve was needing an XBOX ONE controller or a PS4 controller. Note needing a PS4 controller essentially makes this fight stick useless with the PS5.Everything else is great about this fight stick I love mine. P.S this is my first fight stick purchase.

I wanted to hated it but couldn’t.
It’s a well made product regardless of who “really” made it. I personally prefer arcade style select, pause, mode, etc buttons but whoever made this fight stick proved to me that this design is “better” and more practical.I like the select and start buttons on the side like on the Razers but the ego is clearly better made, less bulky and simply a better product.
