SWAGTRON Swagboard Twist Lithium-Free Hoverboard with Startup Balancing

Got this hover board for my son on his eighth birthday. Like stated in the title made the best parents list. It has a charger the is away to plug in and it isn’t the size of a laptop charger slightly larger than a cellphone charger. It goes pretty fast with a child that weighs 65lbs on it or for those outside the US about 32KG. He was able to ride it for about an hour on it taking it easy. It is easy to throw in the car and go on a cement adventure and he couldn’t have been happier with it, though he did want one with speakers built in this unit doesn’t. The wheels do light up and has indicators built in. This was a good design choice because who really knows which direction kids are going to go. This at least gives people around a slight idea. Fun for kids but for you faint hearted don’t forget to get safety equipment.

Whole family enjoyed this! Wonderful gift for 10 and up.

My kids love this hoverboard. It charges within a few hours and holds a charge quite a while. They ride all over the house with it and we’ve even rode it up and down pretty uneven sidewalks and it does well.

Good product but didn’t last long

The media could not be loaded. Bought this hoverboard for my son's 8th birthday and I regret it. Initial impression was OK, it was a little tough for him to get the hang of but after a few days of getting on/off with my help he was able to ride it independently. Once he got the hang of it, he thoroughly enjoyed it... until he couldn't anymore.After about 1 month of moderate usage, the hoverboard all of a sudden stopped working. The way we knew was that it would exude a constant beeping and the gyroscopic motors stopped working to keep the user balanced. The only way to silence the beeping was to plug the unit it. Contacted Swagtron warranty and they had me drain the battery all the way down (the only way to do that was to let it beep itself out of charge for 36 hours... which was pretty annoying to listen to in the garage) and then charge it back up to see what would happen. No luck, no change! So, I sent it in for warranty repair (after another annoying 36-hour battery-beep-drain).My son was excited to get the hoverboard back this week after ~2.5 weeks with Swagtron for "repair". I charged it up and guess what? IT'S DOING THE SAME THING I SENT IT IN FOR! See the attached video, this is how they sent it back to me "repaired". When I emailed them, this is what they replied: "After checking our technicians repair notes, we can see that there they were able to get it to come on and it shows full charge and full battery, even test rode it and never beeped again or shut off". Does the video look like anything Swagtron's "technician" describes?I asked for a refund, but they said they can only refund if you buy from their website. This is outside of the Amazon return window, so I guess if you're silly enough to buy this thing, buy it directly from Swagtron so you can get a refund when it stops working.

This worked great & my kids caught on fast, but they’re boys, 9 & 12, and they are super rough on things so they did break it within three months, but it was in no way the manufacturers fault. They went off roading in it through construction sites, and it held up fine, but what killed it was them thinking it was SUPER fun to sit on and try and ride around in circles in like morons, around and around with the thing beeping like crazy. It couldn’t get back to level ever after so much of that for so many days - it finally met its match with my hellions, but you know what - it lasted 3 months and was THE hit of his birthday, and they were pretty much over it after 3 months of abuse anyways so I think I got my money’s worth.

Got it for my 8 year old (who was a pro right away) and his 2 year old brother now takes it and rides it all over the house! Its CRAZY to see a 2 year old on this device!!! Only issue is I wish the battery was longer but for the price this is great for any kiddo!

So far these have been great. Will revisit this review in a few months, but this is working well and the kids love it (heck, I love it).Some of the negative reviews I’ve read are about the chargers breaking on some models. Chargers break. That’s just a reality. I could see this charger breaking depending on how you charge it. For example, if you charge it in such a way that the charger is pushing into the ground while it’s charging, then the chargers life will not last very long. That can be easily avoided. We have had no issue with the charger so far.
