Perfect gift for a pocket knife enthusiast
I bought this knife as a gift for my boyfriend after he lost his favorite one, and it was an instant hit! While I knew next to nothing about pocket knives, I knew he uses them for just about everything and has high standards. After doing some research, Civivi seemed like a great balance of quality and price — and that turned out to be an understatement. The knife has a very sharp and sturdy blade, a beautifully crafted wooden handle, good safety mechanisms, and a removable clip. So far, I’ve seen no downsides. From my perspective, it’s an amazing gift, and judging by how much he loves it, I’d say it’s perfect for any pocket knife enthusiast!

Impressed
I'm a "Buy American" type when practical. However American made pocketknives in the style I like are usually prohibitively expensive, especially since I tend to beat my knives up. I don't want to trash a $200 knife. I have a big piece of property and I use my knives for all sorts of chores. I've carried a Kershaw 3410 for several years, a $35 knife (also made in China), that has served me well. But recently I find that the blade has more side-to side movement than I care for and it's hard to keep centered. It takes an edge OK but doesn't hold it long. It had no jimping. I had to cut the jimping in myself. I'm a sucker for wooden scales on a pocketknife, so when I saw this CIVIVI Elementum pocketknife with Cuibourtia Wood scales, I went for it. The scales are real wood, nicely grained and finished. My initial impression of the CIVIVI is that this appears to be a well made knife. The blade is centered and sharp right out of the box. It has jimping for a good thumb hold. It will slice a piece of copy paper held on edge cleanly into narrow strips. The Kershaw is a "spring assist" and deploys quickly, but I did have to mill down the left scale and steel liner (a lot) to be able to reach the liner lock to more easily disengage it. Not so on the CIVIVI. Although the CIVIVI is advertised as a flipper, the blade jumps out more quickly than the spring assist Kershaw! The liner lock engages the blade securely, is easy to disengage and does so with an audible "click." The knife comes set for right hand pocket carry, blade tip up, which is what I like. It carries deeply in the pocket, the spring clip secures it well, but there's no option to convert it to tip down or left- hand carry. As the title says, I'm impressed. We'll see how the black finish holds up on the blade and what kind of edge retention the knife has.

This is truly an amazing everyday carry!
I was biting my tongue when buying this knife. I wanted a nice knife that was simple and sturdy and could do anything. The wood handle feels nice and the blade is incredibly sharp. I’ve used this knife for bushcraft and basically Hell and back. I lightly sharpen it every few weeks with a sharpening stone for like 5 minutes. It’s an amazing knife. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a strong knife. The knife is somewhat of an assisted open, but you kind have to flick it a lil bit, but not much force needs to go into it. It has a very satisfying click when the blade is set. If you have the money for this beautiful knife, definitely get it! You won’t regret it.

Great knife! But I want my flipper back! Without pocket clip. I have to choose?
Hey! I like this knife a lot! I'm especially happy with the wooden handles. My only problem is that I prefer to remove pocket clips from all my knives -- not usually a problem. I just prefer carrying them in a belt sheath. And this clip was especially easy to remove. But, oops, now the flipper is so tight that it's unusable. So I have to open the blade manually, by grasping it with my hand & pulling the blade out to open it. I need a nail-nick, maybe? I know this is not a problem for most knife collectors/users. Just a tiny warning to those who will be surprised by this non-standard arrangement. Are there magnets holding the blade in place? I can't figure a way around this as I like the magnets. But in this case a little less magnetized, please. Still really like the knife! --don, mphs.

Ebony handle is elegant and beautiful.
The media could not be loaded. This is a beautiful knife. Perfect as a gentleman’s carry, and the ebony wood is elegant, smooth, but grippy. The ergonomics are great, fits very comfortably in my hands (average sized) with no hot spots. Reasonably sharp right out of the box, and the action is predictably smooth and authoritative even before breaking it in.Don’t like the lanyard hole placement so much, as it bites into the beautiful ebony, but that’s only when I think about it hard enough to write a review.Pocket clip is well designed and angled to keep the flipper tab angled away from the hand as it enters pocket.Steel is D2 which is my favorite budget steel—very durable.Civivi logo is nicely offset from black handle and has subtly attractive reflective properties. In many ways, this knife is more beautiful than many of my much more expensive knives, and I find myself wanting to carry it almost every day. This is by far my favorite knife for under $150.

Great Add to my EDC Collection - Love the Ebony scales
This is my third EDC from Civivi and 1 Sencut another WE brand Knife. None of them have ever disappointed me. The attention to detail, fit and finish and blade grinds are well above their weight class for the money. The Elementum is no different. From the Sharp hollow grind, Drop point D2 steel blade to the black/Drk Brown Ebony wood scales this is an outstanding buy for the money. The design is very simple the execution butter smooth and very high quality. My two improvements that would make this knife even better, It would be nice if the front Choil was a bit bigger for the front finger and since the clip is not movable, recess the clip so that it is flush with the scales. Other than that, one standout Civivi.
