Worth every penny!
I recently installed the CarlinKit into my 2015 S3 with a 7" display.I couldn't fault the the box for the installation, with the help of video's from YouTube and the manual its was fairly clear on how to attach all the cables. The glove box was a little fiddly to re-fit as I found the LVDS slightly short, but not too short to be a major problem. Once it was all installed I tucked the USB cable in as you will see in the install videos and used some 3M sticky pads to firmly fix the USB to the car (I installed my USB directly above my 12v socket) now the USB sits firm to the car and is almost out of sight, but still gives me the option to use wired CarPlay or just charge my phone. The only point worth raising which is no fault of CarlinKit was my cars own Bluetooth kept interfering with the CarPlay and I was struggling to get it to play music or hear anything when trying to make a phone call. Once I selected forget my car from my phone the CarPlay instantly worked as expected.I think it is a fantastic product for a decent price and it makes my car feel a bit more modern as I prefer the CarPlay system due to being able to read/send messages and being able to select playlists from Spotify.

Wanted to thank customer support for fixing my mistake
Writing this mainly because I wanted to thank Carlinkit’s customer support and in case hearing about my error helps someone avoid the same. Installed the hardware, not too difficult, and as others have said, a number of good videos on YouTube if you get stuck. Probably the hardest part for me was unplugging the connectors from the Audi MMI head unit. Even after figuring out the tricky, fiddly release method which seemed to be different for each one (press tab, pull tab, slide tab…) they were very tight and scary to pull out. But at least they should stay put after plugging back in. Powered up and worked OK apart from an issue with the display which showed two tiny (but working) CarPlay screens instead of one that filled the screen. Contacted Carlinkit via Amazon app and over a couple of days of messaging they patiently talked me through diagnosis. Problem? I failed to RTFM properly. To be fair (?) the instructions were terse and a little cryptic in places. Possibly I’m being a bit harsh to knock off a full star for that? Believed my 2016 A3 had a 5.8” screen and set dip switches on unit accordingly but they asked me to measure and to my embarrassment it was actually 7”. Changed the dip switches and all good. Pleased with performance of the unit so far (only been in for a little over a week). Phone only tested once on my drive and was a little flaky but I live in a truly lousy area for mobile reception so I don’t think I the CarPlay unit is to blame for that. But audio was clear at both ends for as long as the connection lasted. No regrets having purchased and would buy from Carlinkit again.

Looks more modern
The media could not be loaded. Recently upgraded my phone to Samsung S22 & the wireless works perfectly. (must just been a hauwei thing)Fitted to an Audi 2014. Good unit that gives your car a better look. All plug & play, hardest bit is getting somewhere to sit the unit & refit the glove box.Controls are smooth just like OE. Can add different apps to suit. Since I'm running an Android phone it uses android play. So can't test carplay out.Connects using a USB cable. Says it supports wireless but can't get my p30 pro to connect that way.Few other features included connecting to a reverse or front camera if fitted. Plug in a USB stick to play media (haven't tried yet)Overall, seems a decent unit since my cars was basic with no navigation before.

Simple to install
The media could not be loaded. Was very easy to install, how ever if you find it hard look on YouTube there are loads of install videos to help you.Should take you at the most 30/50 minutes to install.Works wonderfully well and via cable, Bluetooth and wireless connection.I highly recommend for your Audi

Unable to answer the phone
Straightforward to install, but does require taking out glove box.Instructions are difficult to understand. Most functions work fine but a bit buggy. The important one that I cannot get thecwirk and the support didn't help is in answering the phone. The accept/hang up options appear in a pop-up window. There does not seem to be a way to get the cursor to this window. Therefore you cannot answer the phone.
