A must have, that's all there is to it, you need these!!!
I really needed the 138oz. instead of the 144oz., just because the 138oz. suffices to fit most heads of broccoli, whereas the 144oz. is tall enough for my lower veggie drawer that nothing else can really fit on top of it, whereas I have containers which can fit nicely in the drawer on top of the 138oz. (I measured). So, Rubbermaid, pretty please, bring back the 138oz. size!!Anyway, since this 144oz. size is a little big for, say, two heads of broccoli, it will work well for a large head of cauliflower cut in half or into quarters. Same if your broccoli head is ginormous, it may still fit in this container, but you can cut it in half along the length to fit it better. The 144oz. is a great container for those bulky items, and the little water draining bumps on the bottom will help to preserve produce which becomes more vulnerable to decay due to being cut in half, ... so overall, I think a container like this is a true necessity any way you look at it.That said, I'm 62 and have never really taken my fridge organizing very seriously and I thought that food going bad was just an ongoing thing that everyone had to look out for, like bad weather. But, now that I have ptsd and am an empty nester, wow, keeping produce from going bad is a real challenge. I used to think that produce preserving containers were for wimps or cheaters or something like that, lol, but not anymore. I caved in to the idea of a produce preserving container (my first were long skinny smallish ones for small amounts of carrots and celery), and I'm 100% hooked now!!! You do have to take measurements and get the right sizes for your fridge and all, but it's so worth it!!! It's a game changer and cooking is more fun, as it should be, knowing that your food is in good condition and you won't have the depressing rotting food going on.Since my fridge lower drawer-bins have that awkward shape to accommodate for the motor or whatever is down there at the bottom back, I wasn't using them very well, but this 144oz. container fits very perfectly (though as I mentioned, the 138oz. one would fit well, too, with enough room at the top to fit one more container). This is real progress for me, I got the carrots and celery dealt with (so I can have yummy mirpoix), and now I've got the more "3D" produce:broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, and small heads of Romaine and other lettuces -- and bell peppers down!!! The smaller (88oz.) in the set is great for small amounts of string beans, snap peas, snow peas, Brussel sprouts ---and carrots and celery, too.I am considering other sizes and also fresh herb preserving containers, too. Right now I keep my green onions in a drinking glass with a teeny bit of water at the bottom, and a green produce preserving bag over the top and that works pretty well, especially since it gives the green onions room to grow, which they do do. But, the bag is still awkward to put onto the splayed out green onions. I have not come across a good green onion keeper, so I may stick with my current technique, but, I will keep going with my new project of getting produce keepers because they're so worth it!! And I do recommend the set I have of the 144oz. and 88oz. because the sizes are handy and useful.

Really does work
I put fresh asparagus, a zucchini, and a carrot in the large container. The directions say it works best for one type of vegetable at a time, but the zucchini and carrot were too big for the smaller size and I'm not going to waste space by putting one zucchini in a second large container and then what about the poor, lonely carrot? I kept the whole thing in a vegetable section of the fridge. But even with three different vegs, the containers worked great keeping them all fresh much longer than expected. They don't work indefintely; the asparagus got a bit liquid-y before I could finish it all. But no mold. And the containers are dishwasherable.Downsides: The two shapes and sizes won't always fit your vegs. I had to trim the asparagus. The large containers take up a lot of space. Also, they only store unwashed produce. If you think the price is high, think of the money wasted when you throw away wilted vegetables. These containers are sturdily made and should last a long time.

Solid option for food storage and refrigerator organization
These containers are a nice option for storage of (most) fruits and veggies. The lids fit snugly and have not resulted in any accidents so far. Great for berries, beans, peas, etc. Mixed results so far with leafy greens. Moisture is definitely reduced compared to a sealed container, but there was still some water at the bottom, which led to some soggy greens. I felt my old, sealed Rubbermaid salad bowl did a better job with a head of lettuce. Produce saver mats cut to fit may help, but I have not tried them yet.I still rely mostly on vacuum storage containers for berries and most veggies, but these are great for when I am taking something to work or on a road trip and don't need or want the extra hassle of those containers. They are also good for short term storage of things that do not go fuzzy in a few days. These Rubbermaid containers are a great complement to the rest of my storage containers.I bought 2 sets on sale and considered returning one but ultimately decided on keeping both sets because they do fill a niche very well, especially when combined with vacuum and other food storage options.

Great Storage Containers
I am so happy with these containers. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and didn't have enough room in the fruit and vegetable drawers in my refrigerator. I thought I would try these containers and was very pleased to find they kept food really fresh, and actually did a much better job than the refrigerator drawers.

Keeps fruit fresh longer than regular containers
I wish I would have purchased these years ago. My kids eat a lot of fruit and these work soooo much better than regular containers. I am rarely throwing out fruit that has gone bad or gotten moldy anymore when they are stored in these in the fridge. Very happy with this purchase.

Worth buying
Recieved the two containers. They work really good, I use them everyday for food and storage. I like the design keeps food and vegies good, and not spoil. I like to add a papertowel if I'm storing diced vegetables.Strong seal on the lid, with a handy tab to lift up and off whenever accessing the containers.

Keeps veggies longer
I thought that this would just be another one of those containers where you put veggies in and they immediately go bad after a day or two. This hasn't been the case for me. It keeps food fresh and long lasting. It even kept my strawberries in here longer than in a different type of sealed type case. Liked it so much had to buy another set.

A Salad Prep Fanatic's Necessity!
This purchase was repeat buy of my favorite Salad Making Vegtable Prep Containers. It keeps my Romaine Lettuce perfectly crisp and fresh after cleaning and spinning excess moisture for more way than a week. The grapes are so good and never mushy. It's the bumpy bottom that does the trick. Easy to clean and stacks nicely on the shelves.
