I am impressed by the quality of this mat, as well as the performance.The primary advantage this advertises over others is the ability for the board to "heal" scar marks. I have used many products that have claimed this, but other than end grain maple hardwood, I have not used any product that has actually done it, until now.While this board does not heal as well as end grain maple, it does a surprisingly good job. By doing this, the service life of the mat is extended (as scar markings eventually ruin a mat/board and make clean cuts no longer possible). So in the long run, this mat could save you money with a longer service life over other products.The overall build quality is excellent, and I clean the mat using a disinfectant (accelerated hydrogen peroxide) in which it has held up very well to being cleaned with.Another plus of this mat over others I have used is that it is very easy going on knife, razor, and utility blades. It slows the speed in which they dull at, which is convenient if you use this kind of product a lot.The only downside I see is the price. It's not cheap, but it is a well-made product that holds up to usage, has border lines on it which are super useful for many different applications, is easy-going on cutting tools, and lasts a long time. So to me it is worth the price.

I'd bought this over a year ago and am just now writing a review for may reasons. One, is the best way you can tell if you really have a good mat is due to the use of time used and two, I meant to write it 3 months from my purchase but life happens. I had bought the 12 by 8 size mat and its held it own for a whole year. I've noticed that a corner had risen a bit BUT I've also noticed that this occurs only when heat is excessively aimed on the mat. i had used a heat gun on one of my crafts, since I used mine mat as a small work area since my desk is small. It was then, I've noticed the mat was humped a bit in the spot I had worked. This was recently, so I'm not mad. You can NOT FIX a humped mat. You best bet is to buy a new mat. It is a great mat, and does exactly what its suppose to do. (self heal) It arrived flat, no markings, no scratches, It's was packaged well too. I really have nothing bad to say about it. I'm planning to buy another one but bigger.

If you can get past the skunk smell, you got yourself a great value mat. =) I scrubbed it with soap and water immediately upon arrival. Put it out in the sun to see if that would kill the smell. To no avail. But hey, it's just to cut them and put into a ziplock bag to keep the smell away. lol

First off I'm not using this for cutting yet although I might.This is a perfect backdrop with both a green and black gridded design on each side.I like that there is a clean mat finish with perfectly shaped quarter inch grid pattern on an 8x11 inch grid to the cutting board. Cutting board lays flat on my table.I get great pictures using this board as a backdrop and people can see the quarter inch grid pattern for reference to any object placed on it.Wow I didn't even notice until I started writing this review that there is a hole to hang this cutting board on the wall pre drilled in it. (Truth is I could do without the hole)Yes I'd buy these again and recommend to a friend.If you have any questions leave them below and I'll do my best to answer or find you someone that can. Perfect size Great value

The firmness of this mat is way more impressive than the generic cutting mats I have. As a result it works way better if your cutting designs or need precision in your cuts.

I wanted a smaller cutting mat for cutting paper items for card making. This one is perfect for my needs.
