I use this to root cactus cuttings. I apply the powder to the fresh cutting. Let it dry for about 10 days. And I plant it in a mix of 50% perlite and 50% sphagnum moss. Depending on species, roots take from a couple of days to 3 weeks to apear.

Q: Can i use this for carnivorous plants

I have used rooting hormone to grow a new venus fly trap. Can't say for 100% certain whether it helped or not, but I was successful in starting a new plant. For leaf pulling, I would try to take as much of the white (stem) portion of the leaf as possible. Use sphagnum moss or light potting soil to cover the bottom of the leaves. I always place the entire thing in a plastic baggy at first to keep the humidity high...but keep watch, you don't want it to rot. It takes a while for new buds to appear.
