Easy learning curve for a multi-function domestic sewing machine
I recently decided to revisit my old hobby of sewing. I had a perfectly okay Brother sewing machine but the more I was using it, the more I became conscious of the many functions that newer sewing machines have that mine definitely didn’t. Some of the features that I won’t be willing to do without that this machine has include snap-on/snap-off presser feet, making a switch from one stitch type to another a matter of seconds rather than minutes; a drop-in bobbin that removes the need to fiddle with the upper thread/needle to pull up the bobbin thread before starting to sew as well as virtually ending the common problem of the bobbin thread snagging inside the machine; a library of stitches that come pre-programmed with optimal stitch length and width… selecting a stitch always starts with the preferred default values every time you select it; a better design for the the upper thread loading. They have somehow designed the unit so that the thread will automatically find itself on the correct side of the path being threaded instead of, as my older machine needed, requiring me to fiddle with flywheel on the right of the machine to get the different parts in the correct orientation to pass the thread around the parts correctly.; a built-in overstitch stitch for fray-prone fabrics; and lastly, the option to either use the foot peddle to control the speed of the stitches or choose to use the programmable stitch speed control for those of us who find their excitement, anxiety, or simple lack of patience leading to what feels like a high-speed chase where your current stitches are the barely in control car careening around the mountainous ess-curves, inches away from flying off into the valley below. This machine is well made, well designed, and wonderfully lightweight. I think it is a great starter machine for those wanting to learn the skills and tricks of sewing.

Great machine at a fair price
I bought this machine to be a traveling machine and I have not been disappointed. It sews smoothly and the embroidery unit is a plus. I would recommend this sewing machine. I feel it was priced comparable for what it does and how it functions.

Just play on it Sewing is fun!
I had a older model of this machine given to me. I sew every single day. It became my go to for knits, applique and embroidery. Broke a gear ordered this one its so reliable! I'm back to trusting my machine. Can't go wrong at this price! Love it!

Brother is the best
Bought this for my daughter for a Christmas gift. She LOVES it. I've always used Brother and when she said she wanted a sewing machine I knew this brand was the one.

Not for thick fabrics
Does not work well with thick fabrics. Most sewing machine sold today are more of a speciality then a good all around machine. To do what my other old machines did, it now takes 2 or 3 different machines. The brother is good for clothes, but has issues when too many layers of fabric is there. It will struggle with 6 layers of lightweight flannel which happens depending on the seams being sewn together. Then I switch to an old machine. I do miss the old singers that could sew through anything not like any of the machines today.

Do not pass go, Do not collect $100, Stop searching right now, this is the machine for you!
I originally ordered a heavy duty Singer because I have had sewing machines with all the bells and whistles throughout the years and never used any of the fancy stitches. I am at a point I. My life that I just wanted a work horse machine that would sew a lot without giving me any headaches. Well, that one sewed for about a hot minute and the timing went out. I called Singer and they said it was a bad machine and all I could do was return it. So back to the grindstone I went and stumbled across reviews for this baby! I read nothing but rave reviews about it. So even though it has the bells and whistles I was trying to stay away from, I decided to give it a go. Boy oh boy am I glad I did! This baby sews like a dream! My first project was sewing 6 double layer fleece blankets for Christmas! Now I am onto rice bags and there are a lot of them so I am definitely putting it to the test! This was absolutely money well spent! I wholeheartedly recommend this machine whether you are a beginner or experienced seamstress. It won’t let you down!
