Revelatory source of insight and intellectual inspiration
What I admire most about all Bowlby's work is his ethological or evolutionary perspective. For those who don't know, "Bowlby's theoretical efforts spawned on of the broadest, most profound, and most creative lines of research in 20th century and 21st century psychology." (Handbook of Attachment, Cassidy and Shaver.)More personally, this book was very helpful to me in finding constructive ways of remembering my mother after her death. Each reader will have his or her own response to this book, of course, but its insight, compassion and intelligence make for a moving experience.

Loss, we all go through it
Understanding loss responses, esp regarding anxiety helps us understand why some people recover and some do not. This is one of a trilogy by the father of attachment theory which has been expanded even more to the social aspect of relationships into adulthood.

Five Stars
I've only read parts of it but it's insights on depression in adults had been helpful in my practice.

Bowlby is going to change the world!
This man is going to change the world with his research and insight. I wish all parents had to read his books! What a different world we'd live in!

Good foundational read.
While the research studies sited are a bit older, they none the less offer the author a good basis for supporting and moving forward the works and ideas of his father. From experience, the work is credible and still valid as a point of reference.
