Achtung!
Be careful to cover up all rubber portions of your soft-top convertible before using this product. Otherwise, it could harm the rubber. Aside from that the product is useful in protecting your top from rain and sun.

It WORKS
I have a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Conv. that has been leaking for years. I've been lazy. Didn't want to put money into it. Just put seat covers on repeatedly. Switched them out, then I saw this. I didn't even wash the top. I just directly applied this. It covered the whole top, not enough for a second coat. Dried, It's been raining here in south Florida for 3 days. And it's dry in my car OMG, just a little damp in a one inch quarter size spot top.Left by the inside mirror where I missed a spot on outside!! Going to get another bottle to do a second coat.OutstandingNow my husband can't make fun of my car anymore.

Poor Spray bottle design - be careful
Applied this to my 2003 BMW Z4 last week. Fabric top. I had used a different product several years ago but this one's reviews made me give it a try. It has not been water-tested yet. To protect rubber and plastic parts I have to mask off the entire top with blue tape and newspaper (picture). The rear window is plastic with rubber gaskets and must be totally covered. So, about an hour prep time. The previous product was in an aerosol can and sprayed evenly. This is a trigger pump sprayer. The spray pattern is very uneven and difficult to direct/control. After reading the warnings, I wore latex gloves. Luckily, because I had to use my hand to spread the liquid out evenly on the top. Ended up having to manually spread-after-spraying the whole time. The result, when dry, was very even and looked really good. Dry time was long, so I waited two hours before applying a second coat. Same routine with the gloved hand spreading evenly after spraying. I recommend this technique if you have a lousy sprayer like mine. In the end the top looks like new. So, I have to mark it down for the application effort and poor sprayer. Also, I used about 3/4 of a bottle to do two coats.
