Mal Waldron - The Complete Remastered Recordings Vol.2

The two duet albums with Steve Lacy are classics, as is the superb Anthony Braxton album (Monk interpretations). The solo piano album "Update" is excellent, perhaps Waldron's best solo effort. So, out of the gate there are four tremendous albums. The other albums are good to very good, all interesting with a wide variety of settings - duet, trio, small groups, backing a vocalist, etc.. Overall, this is a wonderful box set. Highly recommended.

Raccolta molto interessante dei CD registrati con Soul Note e Black Saint di un grande pianista jazz, forse non così conosciuto come invece meriterebbe. In generale le rimasterizzazioni sono di buon livello e rendono estremamente piacevole ascoltare Mal Waldron in diversi contesti (solo, duo, trio, con cantanti etc.) Per me da comprare e ascoltare, nonostante anche la mia copia del cd con Judy Silvano sia rovinata da rumori vari e molto fastidiosi di cui ha scritto anche chi mi ha preceduto nelle recensioni.

il box e' economico e contiene bella musica e qualche album raro. purtroppo il cd di judy silvano e' stato rimasterizzato malamente, e quando la voce raggiunge certe frequenze acute si sentono degli scratches molto fastidiosi; presumo che non sia un difetto della mia copia ma un problema generale dell'edizione.
