Works well with a Home Theater PC
This little keyboard works with a variety of products but I purchased it to work with my Windows 7 HTPC so that's what my review will be based on. I'd had the Logitch DiNovo Mini for 3-4 years prior and bought this as a replacement, mainly because it was cheaper than buying a DiNovo Mini again. First of all, let me say that they are NOT the same product. Because this is meant to work with other products it has lost some of the functionality that I enjoyed with the DiNovo Mini. It's little things that if I hadn't been used to being able to perform those few functions I probably wouldn't miss them as much right now. When I first set it up (which was a snap, by the way) I noticed right away that the zoom, CTL+ALT+DEL, and delete key didn't work. I've since accidentally discovered zoom...hold down CTRL and Shift/Scroll while moving your thumb up and down the touch pad. It will zoom in and out making websites MUCH easier to read from the couch :) Delete works if I'm deleting text but not if I want to delete a file. Annoyingly, I have to right click on the file and select delete from the menu. I've still not found an alternative to CTL+ALT+DEL but I keep trying, in the meantime plugging in a full sized keyboard if the computer freezes.Aside from these annoyances it's a great little device. The battery lasts forever, the scroll feature is a wonderful new addition after going so long without it on the DiNovo Mini, and the reception is MUCH better with this device. With our old one the mouse arrow would constantly get jumpy or would freeze completely, requiring us to pop the battery out and back in to temporarily fix the issue. I've not had to do that once since getting the replacement and we've been using this almost 2 months now.I wish I could give this 4 1/2 stars but since Amazon doesn't do halves I'm going with 4. If Logitech ever puts out a firmware upgrade that makes CTL+ALT+DEL functional I'll change it to 5. Even so, you can't go wrong if you buy this :)

Works great until it doesn't.
I purchased this for my HTPC in the living room. It comes with a little USB adapter which I have plugged into one of the front ports. Initially this thing was awesome. I love the lighting and I love the cover. It takes a few to get used to and the battery lasts for ages (comes with cable to recharge, no need for AA's.Unfortunately as of late, maybe no more than 5 months, the thumb (joy stick) has been acting up. Sometimes pushing down arrow will trigger right arrow, so when trying to select a specific show or movie, it becomes a bit of a hassle. It's not as if I toss this thing around, it sits on the couch. I also noticed that the range is not that great between the controller and the USB receiver...I only sit maybe 7 feet away and there are some days where I have to hold the remote up high to actually get the signal from the receiver. I'm sure if i had the Bluetooth version that would be resolved, but I went with the wireless.Out of all the remotes, this one seemed like the best choice. Perhaps next time I'll just use a tablet to control the PC. I wouldn't buy this again, but for now it'll do.

This it the remote you want.
I have several Home Theater PCs in my house. All of them have IR remote controls for navigating menus, playing movies, etc. But for the times when I need to open up a window or search for something on the internet, It has always sucked to have to pull out a keyboard and mouse. I have tried several HTPC friendly keyboards. This one ( 2.4GHz Wireless Mini Keyboard with Touchpad ) has a track pad on the top and a blackberry keyboard underneath and the keys are back-lit, but it is nearly useless to enter text with. I also have the Lenovo Multimedia Remote with Keyboard N5901 which is "T" shaped with a keyboard on top and a track ball on the bottom. It works OK, but the keys are not back-lit and the remote is black so unless you like to watch your movies in a well lit room, then it is worthless. I have 2-3 others that have similar problems. I saw this one when it came out and thought it would do the trick but the price was too high. Well I waited long enough. I picked up this one for less than $50, and it has solved all the complaints I have had with all the others. Not too big, not too small, just the right amount of back light. This it the one you want Goldilocks.

PS3 Keyboard
I was a bit nervous when I received it and saw that it never mentioned the PS3 on the box at all, it just mentioned 'Google TV and Revue'. However, after plugging the USB receiver into my PS3, it worked fine- AS A KEYBOARD! The problem is, it doesn't do anything else other than allow you to navigate with the directional pad and enter text, it will not 'select' anything- you still have to use your PS3 controller for that. I bought this to replace the Sony keypad which attaches to the PS3 controller because I am tired of that keypad constantly repeating characters and the buttons and icons are so small you practically have to bring it up to your face to see what buttons are what. Also, with the PS4 coming out, due to the touchpad, there is no attachable keypad available for that new controller, so I needed another keypad anyway. I have a wireless keyboard that works with the PS3 but it is the size of a normal keyboard and a huge hassle to deal with. As it is now with this, I have to set the controller down, pick up this keypad, navigate around, then hit the controller 'X' button to select, return my hand back to the keypad, type, then go back down to the controller to enter. Hopefully someone will eventually design an overlay keypad for the PS4 controller that doesn't keep repeating characters like the Sony keypad does with the PS3; I find the overlay keypads more efficient but that efficiency goes away when you constantly have to delete and reenter text due to repeated characters.
