Very good desk light
Works just as it is supposed to. Light quality is good. It is very stable with a good, solid base that is just the right weight. The switch is an inline switch and very conveniently placed.

simply the best
So, I finally decided to bring the TORCHSTAR Metal Desk Lamp with Clamp into my life, and let me tell you, this lamp is a total game-changer. First off, the build quality is impressive—it’s constructed from solid metal and feels like it could survive a minor apocalypse. I was genuinely surprised by how sturdy it is. If you’re tired of your lamp wobbling or tipping over just because you accidentally nudged it, this is the lamp for you. It’s like having a personal bodyguard for your desk.Now, the clamp—oh man, the clamp. It’s seriously one of the best features. It attaches to my desk with a grip so tight, I’m pretty sure it could hold on through an earthquake. I love how it eliminates any worries about the lamp falling over when I reach for my coffee or elbow-deep into a project. It’s secure, reliable, and it keeps everything in place like a pro.Setting this bad boy up was a breeze. The clamp mechanism is straightforward—just twist it on, and you’re good to go. The adjustable arm is a dream come true. It bends, twists, and rotates into just about any position you could need, allowing me to direct the light exactly where I want it. It’s like having a mini spotlight that you can position precisely for whatever task you’re tackling, minus the dramatic flair and flashing cameras.In short, the TORCHSTAR Metal Desk Lamp with Clamp is the epitome of desk lamp excellence. It’s sturdy, functional, and has a clamp that’s basically a fortress. If you’re in the market for a lamp that’s going to stay put, shine bright, and make your workspace look like a million bucks, this one’s definitely worth checking out. Plus, it takes one more worry off your plate—no more dodging falling lamps when you’re knee-deep in work!

Inexpensive, lightweight, and functional but designed for PAR30 short neck bulb (not included)
Arrived quickly. Much more thin and lightweight materials than expected but base is heavy enough to support the lamp. Feels a little flimsy and positioning the arm is not very smooth or flexible. Certainly not an equivalent replacement for my old 1960s swing arm pulley assisted draftsman lamp. Clamp is some type of plastic-rubber and flexes a lot so will not get super tight but also probably won't split or crack -- I bought it for the multiple direction clamp feature but ended up using the base and taking up desk space anyway. It is small but cute (i.e., Pixar). Although most any standard base bulb will screw in, the head is really designed for a PAR30 short neck bulb (not included) which will add several dollars to your investment. But not a bad little light for the price.

DESIGN=100%, CONSTRUCTION=100%, QUALITY…
The design, the construction, everything about it…..WOW! It’s been a long time since I’ve been so impressed by a product I bought, sight unseen. I’m very happy with this product, and at the price I paid for it …. I’d recommend it in a heartbeat!

Lamp part works fine, arm part not so much
It’s a decent enough lamp, especially for the price. But had I known about the base and clamp issues, I probably would have looked elsewhere. The base it too light; you can’t extend the arm too far out or the center of gravity shifts and it tips over. It will stay in the classic “lamp pose” just fine, but I bought this to put by my bed. I want it to be able to extend over/retract so that I can shine it down onto my bed as I do homework in my dormroom. And it can do that, but it has a far more limited range than it’s arm length would suggest due to it’s inability to not fall over when stretched that far. The clamp it comes with is also a bit of a joke. Can it work under ideal circumstances? Sure. But it’s fairly cheap feeling plastic (rest of the lamp body is metal), has a relatively tiny clamp diameter, doesn’t “lock” the lamp end into itself (it’s a friction fit for the clamp, the base has a thumbscrew you can tighten once you insert the lamp’s bottom so that it stays relatively secure), and does not have the strength/sturdiness to hold the lamp at anything but an upright configuration. You can’t clamp it sideways; it really can’t do anything that the base can’t do, except for save a tiny bit of space at the edge of your desk. I’m honestly not going to bother returning it, I will be using it for the foreseeable future because it does work fine. But if I happen to see a better one at a store or something, it’s probably going to get replaced. The build quality isn’t really there for how I wanted to use it, but it’s also not a knockoff or anything. It works, looks fine, and can get fairly bright depending on what bulb you put into it. I’m just disappointed by the balance issues, as well as the ineptitude of the clamp. Adding several ounces worth of weight to the base, and making the clamp strong enough to support the lamp sideways would easily make this product a 5/5, even if it meant increasing the price by 10 or 15 bucks.

Great Little Light
I bought this to replace an old goose neck lamp that sits on a shelf above my computer that I had to stand up in a weird position to reach the on and off switch that was located on top of the lamp. The switch on this lamp is located on the chord and because it sits on a shelf above, the on and off switch is positioned perfect for my use. I no longer have to stand up to turn the lamp on. The heavy base is not heavy enough to be able to use the lamp. I have it clamped to the shelf and don’t really have to move it around. It’s a little flimsy if you need to move it around. Need to hold onto the clamp to be able to move it around. A smaller light bulb sits up inside the light as it should. Full size light bulb sticks out the bottom of the lamp shade. I'm happy with my purchase.
