Artificial Sinew 8 Ounce Roll

Artificial sinew is made without twisting or braiding, just tows of parallel fibers well penetrated with slightly sticky wax. You can split it easily into smaller tows (tow is just a word for a bundle of parallel fibers), or use it as is. It is special because it can lay flat as it builds up in a binding or lashing. It is not string.Waxed thread or Waxed string is either twisted or braided or both, and looks like wasy miniature rope or string, and is round, and not flat. It can be useful, it can be pretty,..... but it's NOT artificial sinew. It can be used to bind or lash, but it won't easily split into smaller tows, isn't flat, and does not produce the same visual or structural result.I was shipped waxed string.So....there are only a couple of possibilities here:1) When you order this product you SOMETIMES get shipped just waxed thread/string, which is NOT what artificial sinew is, and you SOMETIMES get shipped artificial sinew.2) When you order this product you ALWAYS get shipped waxed string, but some customers are fine with it and either find it as good for their purpose as artificial sinew, or perhaps think that waxed string IS artificial sinew.Either way, what's happening is not OK, particularly because the photo used for the product DOES appear to be artificial sinew, and looks nothing like what I was shipped. See my photo.So, simple enough: one star only.

I am new to tying my tie dye pieces with sinew, but I’m very happy with this product. I have been tying geode patterns and this sinew has never broken on me no matter how hard pull it tight. The sinew is waxy and good quality. I’m satisfied with this purchase and will buy more.

This is not Artificial Sinew. it's just plain brown waxed thread. waste of money.

Very good product. It was just what I was looking for to bind my knife blades and antler handles together. Versatile and easy to work with. I also got it for 50% less than what I found on Ebay

Finally I found somebody that delivers what I've been looking for the First Time Out this is artificial sinew at its best that I found so far good price delivered on time

Good product for crafts. It was a good value for the amount that comes on the roll.

Color is different than in the photo, it's a reddish brown, not the tan I was expecting. Everything else is fine about it so I'll use it for something else but it's not right for the project I was working on.
