Folding "T" handle ramrod a real palm saver!
Installed one on my Thompson Center Hawken rifle (yes, some of us still use the old side hammer). Very nice quality piece. Carefully measure for length and cut to size using a tube cutter like used for brake lines and plumbing for a perfect cut. Light weight, aluminum with black finish. I installed a Hornady 6684 ramrod end on mine since I shoot conical bullets in lieu of round balls. Had to turn down the Hornady ramrod end a little so it would fit through the thimbles and forearm on the rifle but it's brass so easy to do in a drill press. Just protect the threads with some electrical tape. The folding "T" handle on this ramrod was the main attraction. It's a real palm saver. Very pleased with my purchase.

Glad I bought it!
I haven't done any serious tugging yet, so I can't testify to the strength of the tip. However, I used a small tube cutter to cut to size and the tip seems snug enough to hold up well. It took a good bit of force to get the tip in place.I have it on my TC Renegade (1990's version) and it fits perfectly! The "T" handle will definitely come in handy. All my accessories threads fit without any issue. So if they fit the original rod they will fit this unit.

These are great and this one for hard to find lengths
I like the premade ones a little better but they didn't make one the correct size. It was hard to get the end into the tube once I cut it. But it hasn't come out. I love these ram rods more than any other ones I've used. They are light, don't bend allow you to pull the jag back up more easily than standard ram rods and they clip into place well. I use them on every muzzleloader I have but this is the first time I had to get the universal size (traditions deerhunter). I really thought the end would come out of the rod but it hasn't so mission accomplished.

Price and quality.
Was missing the insert I called the co and they sent a whole new one.

Worked well
Had a .54 cal stuck in the barrel. Tried various tricks and no luck. Ordered this and a threaded insert ball puller. Got it all together and easily removed a ball from a 50 cal. Onward to the .54. Ball jammed so hard it pulled the insert out. Reset the rod on the insert unscrewed it from the ball. Drilled and pinned the insert in the rod and tried again. Worked like a charm. The T handle is a godsend to really pull

Fatal Flaw
The rod itself is solid but the design is flawed. To ensure the silver adapter did not come out, I used epoxy to secure it in the rod end. While cleaning my muzzleloader, the silver tip separated from the rod and became lodged in my barrel. I had to unscrew the nipple on my gun and use canned air to blow it out. This design flaw has the potential to ruin an expensive firearm. I’m returning it for a refund and I’ll get a one piece range rod fromTrack Of The Wolf. This rod is a Piece of junk.

Buy the 7980 and be sure it fits!
DONT get the 7983 or 7999 model because you THINK it will fit your gun. Get the Universal Power Rod 7980 and be SURE it fits your gun. I had it cut to an exact fit and installed the end in minutes. I cut it with my cheap micro cut off saw that I use to cut arrows. The fitting is a press fit and it is VERY secure (I wondered about that before I bought it). Love the Power Rod. Maybe when I go back to the range to sight in my Encore I won't get a blister on my palm from the old ramrod, like I did last time!

Poor Quality Ramrod
To use this ramrod, you have to cut it to length, then install the threaded insert into the end. In doing so, the end of the ramrod spit, making this useless and just a piece of aluminum.
