Excellent, get them when there is a deal
Having had momentum wired for some time, wanted to follow up with wireless. Sound quality is a good successor to those which I’m very happy with. A very natural, clear and broad range that feels authentic and balanced. If you are looking to spend top dollar then consider how and what music you listen to and what you like to hear. These are premium ear buds so you’ll be paying a lot more for those last few percent. However, that’s often is the difference with premium products. These were an instant hit for me.Battery seems good.Controls are fine for me and i was surprised how I got used to them, they have a good touch feel and didn’t feel it resolved particularly laggy.Comfortable in the ear for long periods. Only gripe is to find the right fitting with the silicone buds, which is obviously a personal thing as this is essential to sound quality. However that’s not a comment against these, more that you may need to try other sizes beyond those supplied.I considered the AirPods Pro 2 but the stem wasn’t something I wanted. The sound quality of momentum 2 is better and I think when apple replaces the stem they will look a bit silly so I wanted avoid if I could.Price- I didn’t pay rrp , closer to a few hundred and that put it into AirPod pro 2 territory and then it was no contest. Not sure I could pay top whack though.Case is fine and the ear phones snap in nicely.Wasn’t completely blown away by the active noise cancelling but it’s good enough. I’m told I should listen with more volume when out to get lost out of ANC but we’ll see.If they last then they will be worth it. My momentum wired are still going after about 5 years so I hope these continue for many years too..EDIT:After a few weeks, couple of extra points -- The fit is the hardest things to get right and is obviously a personal thing as everyone's ears different. You need the right fit in the ear cavity (different size tips supplied) and then the way the body of the ear piece sits on the ear. Some twisting to find the right angle is often required. It takes time to find this and some people may not be suited I'd suggest. However, if you persevere and it fits, the rewards are worth it.- I mentioned these felt like a follow on to the wired momentums. Now got used to these more and they have perhaps got going, they are in fact a quantum leap forward. The sound quality is in my opinion, faultless. I'm more than happy with the delivery.- The noise cancelling is better than I'd originally reviewed, due to getting more precise fitment but if you are outside, you will need an appropriate volume used to counter the loud noises.Overall, if you get a good fit I can't see how you'll be disappointed. Having bought high quality audio - speakers, sub woofers, amps, the best ones always last better and you'll be forever paid back with true audio quality which is well worth initial higher investments. Enjoy!

Great improvements
I was so excited when Sennheiser announced the MTW 2 few weeks ago, having been a fan of the brand for more than 10 years and having owned the 1st Gen for about a year.Just received my pair today and so far I really like them. They are smaller than the previous version including the case. It’s not a huge difference but you’ll still notice it. The previous pair used to hurt my ears after a while (1h or so) so I’m hoping this smaller design will help, time will tell. First impressions so far, they are comfier than the original version.Sound-wise, they are excellent. I’ve seen some videos where people suggest these sound different. I don’t think so. I think they might have changed the EQ setting by default because it felt like it was lacking bass a little but I tweaked it differently on the app than the 1st Gen and still managed to achieve the exact same sound. I’ve spent some time comparing the sound between the 2 and I love the 2nd Gen as much as the 1st Gen and I’m a musician so I’m really picky when it comes to sound.Call quality has been greatly improved, I think mainly due to the new added microphones. One feature I really like, surprisingly not mentioned on this page is Sidetone. It gives you the ability to hear your voice during a call. I’ve tested it and love it, so much better than the old version. The possibility the customise controls is one of the reasons why I decided to buy this new version. I’m one of these guys that can listen to a song on repeat so much if I really like it. So having to tap 3 times to play the previous song on the old version used to drive me mad. It wouldn’t work 50% of the time. I’ve now set it on 2 taps on the right earbud and it works like charm. Shame the controls still take about 2 seconds to initiate. I would have liked that to be improved on the new version.Active Noise Cancellation is a great addition too, I think it’s good in loud environments but for people like me that listen to music quite loud (70-90%) it’s less useful. I’m going to leave it turned off as it can drain the battery faster and turn it on only if I need it.One disappointment however, is the time it takes for these to connect to my phone. They take about twice the time than 1st Gen to connect, that's not good at all. I really hope it will be fixed in the next patches because at this price you should only get more not less.Overall really please with these. I’m glad I bought them even if they are very expensive. It might be worth the upgrade for some or not but I still think these are a great improvement compared to 1st Gen.Pros:- Sound as good as 1st Gen- Smaller size- Customisable controls- Better call quality- Sidetone feature- Longer battery life / no more draining in charging case- Active Noise Cancellation (good in loud environment)Cons:- Takes longer than 1st Gen to connect (1st Gen: 1-3 sec / 2nd Gen: 4-7 sec)- They still hurt after some time- Still a delay of 2 seconds to trigger each control- Still can’t connect to multiple devices at the same time- Would have been nice to include case battery percentage in the app- No wireless chargingEDIT 17/04/20: Unfortunately they still hurt like 1st Gen after about 1h. I find that if you twist them up a little bit when it's sore it does help. I still love the sound though and I'm convinced that the sound remains the same or even better than 1st Gen providing you tweak the EQ a bit. It needs adding more bass than the previous version One thing I've also noticed is, despite the fact that you can't pair multiple devices at the same time, the earbuds do remember the last device they were connected to. Good thing if like me you often switch from your work computer / phone. No need to repair every time either, just disconnect from the device and connect to the other one. I haven't experienced a single disconnection, just some very short cut-off but very rarely and I've been walking around the flat no problem.
