COMPLETELY squirrel and pigeon proof
This feeder is SO fantastic, neither the squirrels nor the pigeons can take food from it. Plus the various finches, tits and other small birds can fit easily inside to perch on the “branches” to take the seeds. So popular, covered in Dallas birds all dayCould not be happier.Going to send for the nut and fatball feeders too, excellent value, superb quality 10/10

Good feeder
I bought this feeder to add to some others id already got to keep the squirrels out. It's made from very solid metal , however the top lifts off easily.I'm sure if I didn't secure it ( which I did with wire) the squirrels would have gotten into it ,also it doesn't hold as much food as I expected the central plastic piece the food goes in is quite narrow. But overall I'm pleased with my purchase.

does not work
this neither stops squirrels or large birds like magpies. Total waste of money

Poor quality
I was surprised when I opened the box. The feeding tube is tall and narrow and the whole unit feels cheap compared to others I had seen.I filled it with seed and mealworms and instantly the starlings arrived. Whilst they cannot get through the gaps, the tube is within reach of their beaks and they rapidly emptied the entire tube before the squirrels even arrived. The double catch arrangement at the top meant it sat lopsided on the bird feeder which was disappointing. When the squirrels eventually got a look in, he didn’t get to the seed.I was underwhelmed by the unit and felt ripped off when I compared it to others. In the end I returned it for a more robust and starling proof alternative from Gardenia. It was a similar price but felt good quality, stopped starlings and was just better all round.

Good, well designed feeder
Bought this feeder as it appeared to be easy to modify it for peanuts. It was, and now it works well freely delivering peanuts but not letting them spill out.

Quality not as good as you would expect
As I am fed up with buying bird feeders that don't last, I chose this one as it looked and was implied to be of superior quality; I also liked the simple design and colour. However, I am very disappointed to discover that the chain that makes the feeder 'squirrel-proof' - by a rather fiddly method of feeding it through and around the two catches that fold across the lid and clipping either side - rusted in less than a week. And once that rust came into close contact with any of the other parts of the feeder - lid and framework around which it attaches - those areas started rusting too. Lazy and penny-pinching not to consider this aspect of the feeder design. It is also awkward to hang. I did buy The Nuttery peanut feeder some time ago, and that design is better, but I note that this also is starting to rust around the lid now. Would definitely think twice before purchasing another of their products.

Don’t expect it to last beyond a couple of years
This is probably the UK’s best selling squirrel proof bird feeder so after having had a few of these in three variations of design for a number of years, I thought it would be helpful to write a review.Firstly, in terms of design, it works! It certainly keeps out the squirrels but it doesn’t stop them from trying from time to time, which is amusing to watch. It also deters larger birds like jackdaws but enterprising blackbirds can still get their beaks into feed, depending on how desperate they are. That said, I notice that the latest design of these which I have just had delivered has a wider cage, so that might just keep out the blackbirds and possibly the starlings too.I note that others have said that the cage is too small for blue tits and other birds. This is not the case, I get all the tit and finch family of birds plus sparrows and nuthatches. My feeders are kept out all year around, are regularly taken apart and thoroughly cleaned, not a nice job but it has to be done. The new design makes them easy to refill and anyone who had the previous design will attest to the hassle of trying to get the top off the old design feeding tube to refill it.My biggest complaint with the feeder is the poor paintwork; I have an older design that is at least five years old that is only now showing signs of rust whereas the one that I bought three years ago has had to be scrapped. You can see the rust in the disassembled parts in the photographs that I have attached to this review. Whether the manufacturer has improved their paint finishing will remain to be seen.So bottom line is that the design works, it’s easy to refill and to disassemble for cleaning but don’t expect it to last for more than a few years.
