Excellent home security, and easy to install and use
I had been in the market for a smart doorbell for years but in both my homes, I required one that was wireless. Neither of my recent homes have had wired doorbells, which made it challenging to find a recommended product.I did a great amount of research before purchasing this system, and was a bit nervous at first since I had never heard of Eufy prior to my search.Pros:-Very easy to install. It probably took less than five minutes total with a drill to get everything up and running.-Great images and free, one minute video storage. No paying crazy fees to keep videos you may need.-Easy to download videos to your photos on your phone, when you need to keep a record of something.-Great night vision camera. The daytime is excellent but the evening is really good, as well.-No issues with connectivity-Talk ability is fantastic.-The battery has a very long life. I think I've only charged twice since purchasing last year. Can't beat that.Cons:-None so far.I will be adding to the system as I can but so far, it's been fantastic. I have no complaints. I feel safe and secure inside my home and when away with this watching over us.

Excellent video doorbell at a great price
We had trouble connecting the Nest doorbell to our T-Mobile internet. The Euphy installed no problem and was very simple. Everything was setup in 15 minutes — painless. The doorbell itself is heavy in your hand and feels good-quality. It has a nice, large button for the doorbell itself with a blue ring that lights up. The video quality is great and we love that it stores video locally and you don’t have to pay a monthly subscription. We also really like that the command hub rings as well. We placed that downstairs, furthest away from the doorbell making it easy to hear. Great video doorbell at a great price for what you get!

Initially: Homebase setup issues...Now: works well...generally recommended.
***UPDATE 2021***: Apparently, the third time is the charm. After my first purchase and exchange, I went ahead, bit the bullet, and gave this a third try after a few months...apparently, the firmware needed some updating/improving. Also, we were able to use a wired Ethernet connection with one of our new mesh wi-fi satellite stations...I didn't want to try dealing with the wi-fi connection again. So far it works like a charm! We have two Eufy doorbell cameras set up with our Homebase2, and they work very well. Revised rating to four stars because of the following minor issues we experienced:- There is a bit of lag with alerts and video communications (e.g., with a visitor) whenever you are using your phone to remotely view/talk...this is likely because of latency between the connection with their servers and the connection being relayed to the Eufy app in your phone.- The blue LED light on our Homebase (which signifies a successful connection and is almost always on) no longer works after about a year. The red LED still lights up when the connection fails, but that's not as often...so that would seem to indicate that the LEDs used aren't as durable as they could be.- You may still experience a few issues with WiFi connectivity...we opted to leave that alone, since we got it working with a wired connection. However, even with all of these caveats, it is GREAT to have complete, private control over your own security system and all its related videos, with no outside access by companies or other nosy entities and no monthly subscription fees...I'd still highly recommend it.***********************I really wanted to like this device...after doing extensive research on doorbell cameras, I chose this because of its local storage options. However, although I was able to initially connect my Homebase to my network via ethernet, I could never get the Homebase2 to connect by wifi (and I made sure to connect to the 2.4Ghz spectrum, as noted in the instructions). Upon speaking with eufy tech support, I found out that if your wifi network password has ANY special characters in it (which you are supposed to have for increased security), the Homebase2 won't connect...he admitted that this is a limitation in the firmware.I was finally able to successfully connect the Homebase to the guest network, but even though I followed the instructions (unplug from router and power, then reposition Homebase and plug back in power), it would never switch over to wifi mode...it stayed stuck in ethernet mode and couldn't connect to ANY wifi network after that. I finally uninstalled the app on my phone and reset the device to start over, hoping that would fix things. That was a mistake, because the companion app uses your phone's camera to scan a QR code at the bottom of the Homebase to pair it to your app/account...and once you remove the camera from your app and/or reset the device, the QR code will no longer work! I kept getting "unable to add Homebase" errors; I couldn't even add it using the manual numeric code. After calling Eufy support, the tech agreed that this shouldn't be happening, and recommended a replacement (thanks to Amazon for the quick turnaround)...but I had similar problems with the second device also, and again, after being forced to remove the camera from my app/account and start over, the second Homebase's QR code wound up not working after a reset, as well. I did some online research in the middle of my troubles, and it seems that the latest firmware update may be the culprit; the only thing I regret is that I chose to update my device both times when prompted...but this is what you are supposed to do! (And besides, the tech I spoke with told me that even if I had declined, the device would have eventually updated the firmware on its own.) I wasted the better part of two whole days on this: install a doorbell video camera shouldn't be this hard. After my experiences, researching online, and talking with tech support, I cannot recommend this product: it's an absolutely great idea completely ruined by eufy/Anker's poor execution with the Homebase (the doorbell/camera itself seemed to be top-notch). If they improve things I may consider it later, but I wound up returning both of mine for a refund.

Easy setup, secure and no subscription fees!
I was looking for a video doorbell to replace my old wireless model that finally died. I wasn't excited about having to subscribe to a service, or to have my video images broadcast over the internet telling the world every time I left my house. This doorbell offered the solution. There are other video doorbells out there without subscription services required, but Eufy is part of the Anker family of products. Anker is a name I'm familiar with. Since I have had good luck with Anker's USB hubs, USB cables, and power cells I thought I'd give this a shot.So far, so good. The setup was easy. The video quality is pretty good, not "cinema" quality, but good enough to recognize people at the edge of the detection range.Initially, I had the doorbell notify me every time someone entered the detection area. It was cool to see delivery people drop off packages, but you also get alerts every time you leave and enter as well unless you put the unit to sleep first. I was getting 12 - 15 notifications a day and this caused the battery to drain fairly quickly. Since the notification feature isn't something I need all the time I leave it off until I do need it. The good thing about the detection area is it WORKS well. No false alarms from wildlife or people walking by just outside of the set detection area. Once I hardwire the unit so that it has a constant supply of power, I'll leave the detection feature on 24/7/365 again.NOTE TO EUFY/ANKER: It would be useful if one could program when to have detection on and off to get more out of the battery and not sacrifice security. Remembering to turn it on and off is a hassle. The app for your smartphone works well (at least the version for my phone does) and is intuitive. The app makes it is easy to manage your device settings and see who is at your door. YES, the app utilizes the internet to notify you and send you a video, but I can disable that feature and the videos are stored LOCALLY on the base unit, not in the cloud. All that and no subscription fee or internet privacy concerns.
