It fixed the p1870 code.
This valve body offers a cheap fix for the p1870 code due to TCC valve that wears out on these 4l60e transmissions. I installed this valve body in my 1999 Chevy Suburban and the code went away and it shifts great. One option is to bore out the TCC and replace it, but a new valve body is just as cheap (maybe cheaper) and perhaps an easier safer fix. The symptoms of the worn TCC is after a long drive ATF heats up, gets thinner, and the TCC leaks more. Eventually it leaks badly enough where not enough pressure is generated to fully engage the clutch and the transmission slips. The transmission responds by increasing pressure which results in a hard 1-2 shift (clunk). Turn the car off let it sit and cool and the hard shift goes away, until it gets hot and leaks again, and the hard shift comes back. This triggers the p1870 code. Continuing to drive with a slipping transmission will wear out the internal clutch plates and require a transmission overhaul. The new valve body eliminates the slipping and the code will go away. I do not work on cars except when I need to fix my own. I am only somewhat mechanical and this job took me about 6 hours. It was very messy (ATF fluid everywhere) partly because i did it without pulling the transmission. There are valve body installation videos on you tube that can guide you through the process. Make sure you keep track of what goes where including the bolts because they are different lengths. I have only been driving the car for a few weeks but so far so good. Good luck

Verify before installing
I bought this valvebody for a 2001 4l60e, and thankfully I had the transmission assembled by a transmission shop because this was built as a 1995 version valvebody, apparently it would not work as built, not happy it wasn't built correctly.

You can do it
Overall good product and packaged well. Basically zero directions. YouTube has plenty of videos. I don’t think I needed any additional parts. If you are doing this in vehicle, pick up 2x 70mm or longer m6x1.00 thread bolts and cut the heads off. Use them as locator pins to align everything as it goes in. Take them out as you put the last two bolts in.You’ll need a sheet or two of paper towel too xD

Got rid of p1870 code
Installed this in my 2000 Silverado this weekend. It appears to have cleared my 1870 code. The only problem I found is now the truck shifts so smooth it feels like something is wrong. It feels like it "glide" shifts rather then the hard shift it always had. Hope the code is gone for good and this keeps working a long time.

It could have been better
This product arrived with 3 broken solenoids, I had to go to autozone and get a new one. The others I salvaged from the old valve body. The synthetic gasket was torn on the corner from packaging, so now my oil pan leaks. The shift problem is fixed so this product was worth the money, but at only one star,

P1870 Code: Fixed
If you're having a P1870 code like I was, you may want to consider this. The P1870 code is most commonly due to a "leaky" TCC regulator valve, where the bore has worn out just enough to let fluid seep through and prevent lock-up at the torque converter. When my fluid would reach ~165* F, the fluid was just warm enough to seep through the valve, preventing my torque converter from locking up due to slipping, which would inevitably set off the P1870 code. My trans would then default to the max line pressure, and would bang into gear until I shut it off and let it cool for a bit.I purchased this valve body mainly due to price. The TCC regulator valve is $35, but the reaming tool required for installation is $100+. Some people take it to a shop and have them ream the bore, then they self-install the valve. For $100 more you get a re-manufactured valve body, a pre-installed TCC regulator valve, accumulator pistons, transgo separator plate + upper/lower gaskets, and then a filter and gasket. The value alone sold me, but it's nice knowing that my 200k mile 4L60E has a nice shiny valve body too.All-in-all my shifts are much smoother now, and I swear there's more available power when the torque converter locks up (assuming this is due to the fact that the slipping is eliminated on lock-up).

Ordered wrong

Thanks to Shift Rite for a great product!
I installed this product on my 2000 Silverado today and it performed perfectly. I am very impressed by this package deal. My truck was experiencing the dreaded P1870 code and after installation, my transmission operates and works perfectly. Thanks to Shift Rite for a great product!
