Love reading, good deal too

Superb translation. Dramatic, thrilling, engaging escapades. At times, hilarious. (Previously read eons ago, but poor translation made it unreadable.) Beautifully written -- freshly eloquent after nearly 200 years. Highly recommend for self, or, as a gift.

Not sure why it didn’t come secured as shown in the photos and other reviews. The books are in mostly good condition though save for a few scuffs here and there.

The print is very small if you can endure that.You will love these books

When I was a kid I used to buy so many mass-market paperback classics because they were all I could afford. That was how I read War and Peace (Signet) and the Brothers Karamazov (Bantam). These editions take me back to that time in my life.Dumas's works are thrillers and deserve to be read as such. They cry out to be stuffed into bags and taken on planes. They yearn for a road trip, there to be folded in half and read in snatches between rest stops. These four are about as close to perfect novels as you can get.With this set of books, you will be able to enjoy translations from the same time period as the one Dumas lived in. Everyone sounds so posh and sophisticated until you realize that all they do is ride around on fancy horses stabbing each other. The juxtaposition of poetic language and outright violence is delicious.I saw some people complaining about the packaging and other affirming that it was good. My own purchase arrived carefully packaged and with the snazzy red ribbon. The books were in perfect condition.Look, just buy these and enjoy a month or two with Dumas.

Positively perfect, was intrigued and engaged from start to finish. A must read for anybody who considers themselves fans of amazing literature.

One of my family’s favorite authors. Beats video games any day! Invest in culture by purchasing your own set.
