2 Women With Health Issues Painted 2 COATS ON 7 ROOMS in 2 DAYS!
I'm a 72-year old woman with osteoporosis. My daughter has problems with her hands & her back.We wanted to apply a beige flat paint over colorful shiny satin finish painted walls, and so had to prime all the walls before applying the paint. But with these rollers, we were able to PRIME - AND THEN GO BACK & PAINT - SEVEN ROOMS with 9' ceilings in TWO DAYS! That's equivalent to single-coating 14 rooms in a weekend! We also primed and painted a 9' tray ceiling without a ladder. We had expected to need two or three coats of paint over the primer to completely cover the previous paint, but after priming we only needed ONE COAT. Retouching was minimal because the Paint Sticks released the right amount of paint. We still have the edging to do. But the vast majority of the work was quickly and neatly dispatched. The Paint Sticks (we each have one) worked like a dream. There was no trouble with leakage nor with dripping. They got very close into corners & the ceiling. There was no messy pouring of paint into a tray. No carrying a dripping roller across the room. NO LADDERS despite the high ceilings! The Paint Sticks are also much neater & quicker than the old electric paint rollers with long tubes filled with paint. There were always major spills from the paint can tipping over when pulling on the tube (once I spilled nearly a half gallon of paint on carpeting!), a huge amount of wasted paint in those tubes, and a nearly impossible clean-up when using the electric rollers.I've been painting rooms since I was 12, and in 60 years of experience, I've never had a faster, easier, neater time applying paint. I'll never go back to standing on ladders holding a messy, dripping roller - nor battle the long plastic tube of an electric power roller again!

AMAZING invention!!!!
I got this on a whim in hopes of avoiding continuous bending to reload a traditional roller, and I am blown away by how fast and easy it was to finish a room!!!Pros - You can suck up enough paint to cover most of a wall. No more bending to load the roller every few swipes on the wall...over and over...and over. It only took about 30 minutes to paint each coat of a medium sized bedroom (after I painted trim and cut in edges as I normally would). There were ZERO drips like I always have with a traditional roller!Cons - It is slightly awkward if you have a narrow space (like a hallway or if you have a bunch of furniture moved to the middle of the room like I do) since the stick is pretty long. It wastes paint a bit since it has to suck up enough to fill the inside of the roller. There is a foam insert to take up some space, but I'd assume there is a good half cup of paint in there that won't come out until you disassemble it. Overall clean up is a bit awkward and unpleasant, but I think it is totally worth it!!

Works pretty well after you get the hang of it
As the title says, this paint stick works pretty well after you get the hang of it.You'll need to use it a bit to find just how much to twist the dispensing knob, but after you have that figured out you can cover a wall very quickly and without any mess. Refilling the stick is quick and easy, and the roller doesn't drip after refilling which is a big plus.Make sure you put a little Vaseline or petroleum jelly on the rubber O-ring seals in the handle each time you use it (just smear some all around on the O-rings and clean off the excess).Usage: Turn the handle until paint starts coming out of the roller while running it up and down the wall. After the roller is evenly loaded with paint, start rolling the wall and turn the handle a bit with each stroke to keep the roller saturated with paint. It'll take a bit of rolling before you find out just how much to twist the handle but you'll get a feel for it pretty quickly.Cleaning: You MUST either clean this after each use OR bag the roller end with a plastic bag to prevent it from drying out and clogging. You'll probably also want to buy an extra set of perforated rollers if you plan on doing more than just a room or two.Cleaning is simple- just unscrew the handle, pull the thing apart and rinse it thoroughly with warm water. Clean the roller and then bag it, run water through the perforated metal tube that holds the paint roller, and then run warm water through the paint tube. All in all this is a handy way to paint. It would be great if there was an attachment that would clip onto a paint bucket and feed the roller, but if that's your use case then you could just buy a powered paint sprayer/roller.Handy, and it works as advertised. Well worth the money (only ~ $30).

Not for me
First, the paint stick did come together and load as per the directions. They warned that it would take a full load of paint to charge the roller. That was true.Actual usage: First of all, this review is my own experience only. I am not the tallest or strongest woman on my block.I was also using the stick outside. The fully loaded paint stick is heavy. Painting over my head for longer than 10 minutes was very difficult. The longer I painted the harder it became. Working outside in the Southern US, it was hot. As my hands sweat, it became more and more difficult to turn the barrel to charge the roller as it would slip. I had to stop, get two work cloths and turn the barrel. Was it enough paint? If not, try again...and again. This paint stick was so hard to use that I gave up and crawled up the ladder with the can of paint and a brush to fill in the gaps left from using the paint stick.Clean up? A nightmare. It took forever, and I never could get the barrel to rinse clear. The pieces that feed the paint were even harder to clean. I ran water through them for almost 30 minutes and still, it was not clear. Since the pieces are too small to use any cleaning tool I have it was a waste of water and time. The whole thing is sitting in the yard, and when it dries, it will go into the trash. Good idea but not practical for my purposes.
