An impressive lil guy
Picked this particular model because of the features and the sheer amount of people who have bought and left positive reviews. After reading through some of the negative reviews, I was more than a little concerned this player would have issues. Other than a small issue where I could see the album art in the music player but it showed "file not found", which was fixed by reinserting the sd card, everything has been great.Pros:1. Functionality. Music plays well, navigated through PDFs easily, speedy file transfer and convenient and easy to use file management, the UI works great. Haven't tested the video functionality but I'm sure it's great. Even the built in speakers are awesome.2. Build quality and user interface3. Included and already installed screen protector4. Price5. Usb C!!!Con:Only one, which was that the placement of the back and home buttons on the bottom is a little weird.Other:1. I couldn't find how to add ebooks to the player but I have other devices which I'll probably default to. It would be nice to know how to add those and what the "Net Library" catalog function is. I don't recall seeing anything like that in the manual.Bottom line:I never had an ipod growing up but I am extremely impressed with this lil guy. It feels like i got the much cheaper but better brother of the ipod. Best mp3 player I've ever owned so far.

This thing is a giant pile of garbage.
There is absolutely nothing about this product that is even remotely good or useful even if you already had the lowest expectations. Just to put it into perspective, an iPod Touch 1st Generation that has been dropped on the floor 50+ times, been run over by a truck carrying 5000 pounds of wood, and been hit with a hammer functions better than this piece of junk. The speaker audio sounds is about as good as a 1st generation walkie talkie with interference. If I had to choose between going deaf or having to listen to things through this speaker, I would choose to go deaf. The battery life of the product is straight up a lie. The Amazon description says that you can "enjoy 30 hours uninterrupted music" which, not only is completely false, but is also grammatically incorrect which should have been a red flag to me before buying the product in the first place. The battery life doesn't even last 15 hours while it is in its "power off" state. The storage although not technically false advertising, is realistically intangible. While you can store up to 8 GB's worth of files, putting more than a few GB's worth of files into it causes the processor to have a total meltdown and the entire product stops functioning. I will get more into depth about this later. Now let's have a look at the functionality of the item. The FM radio function, which is already questionable as to why it would be used, simply doesn't connect to any of the very few stations it supposedly can connect to. The recording function crashed whenever I tried to load it. The E-book function I could not test because file transferring is absolutely abysmal on this item. The stopwatch function has so much input delay that it is astonishing. The calculator is a Four Function calculator which means it can only do basic arithmetic(the math you learn roughly between the ages of 5-7) and even then it doesn't seem to do the math correctly. I didn't even bother with the calendar or photos function because I got fed up trying to get the machine to turn on. The eDictionary function is unfinished and has no definitions for words or ways to obtain the definition of words meaning it is useless. The files function is so bad that I'm giving it its own paragraph. Not only does it serve no purpose in this kind of device, but it also fails drastically at any purpose it could potentially have. It has a similar interface as your average computer file tool which is fine. However, there is no function to look for a specific file so you have to dig through everything one by one to try and find what you are looking for. After you finally find your file, what is it that you want to do with it exactly?Want to move it to another folder? Nah that function doesn't work. What about deleting files? Don't make me laugh that doesn't work either.Well can I at least view the file? Heck no, do you think this is a useful product?Well if I can't do any of those, what can I do with it? NOTHING.The files function is entirely worthless just like everything else. Finally we are on the final function, the settings function. This is the function that actually works however there is also a lack of things you can do with it in the first place. The functions you have access to are changing the Date and Time, adjusting the screen brightness, turning the automatic sleep/power-off function on or off, formatting the storage, and factory reset. The functions work as intended(I think) but the machine also likes to revert your changes on its own after some time so whatever you changed disappears. Now that all that bad stuff is over with, let's get onto WORSE things. On top of all the random useless functions that this thing has to offer, the machine simply can not process all of the junk it has installed. The processor has to work absurdly hard just to breathe. The processor is an absolute joke of a piece of hardware that makes the hardware of machines from 50 years ago look good. Without the addition of your own files, the product runs at the speed of an old laptop from 2010. Its not annoyingly slow but its slower than I prefer(roughly half a second to a full second of delay). Once you add your own files, that's where everything completely falls apart. I only added in about 3 GB's worth of data, which isn't even half of the capacity the product is given and the whole thing slowed down dramatically. It went from a 0.5-1.0 second delay to a 12 second delay. Even the oldest of computer processors run faster than this even when they are at 100% capacity.Trust me, it still gets worse. So I also bought a 128 GB micro SD card (they call it a TF card in the description which is just the old name of micro SD) to add additional storage because I have 50+ GB's worth of music that I wanted to store. Now I will give a quick rundown of how micro SD cards are typically used because this is connected to the problems that arise with this product. Typically when you put a micro SD card into a device, you are able to put files into the micro SD card using the product. This product however, requires you to put files into the micro SD card BEFORE you put it into the device and there is also a lack of instruction for this to begin with. So I spent a good 4 hours trying to figure out what I was doing wrong until another customer told me what he did. Remember in the last paragraph how I mentioned that the product ran absurdly slow with 3 GB's stored? Well I had 11 GB's when I tested my micro SD card and not only did the product stop working entirely(I wasn't surprised at all when this happened), it also corrupted my micro SD card and I had to repair it.This product is so awful that I wouldn't recommend it to any person. I would rate this 0 stars if I could because it isn't deserving of even a single star. If I was a Youtuber who was struggling financially and they offered me a single video sponsorship for 30 seconds, I wouldn't even take it unless it was 6 figures or higher. That's how awful this product is.

The best of the cheap ones I've tested so far. (4.5 out of 5)
I have tested 3 of the six cheap music players, and this one so far, and I don't see it getting beaten, punches WAY above its weight. $50, decently large 4.5in (480x800) IPS screen with an interface and navigation scheme that's not dumb. The other two which are also touch based, have obtuse swiping gestures, but since this has a home and a back button, it feels familiar to those who have used Android (this doesn't run Android).Pros (THERE ARE A LOT OF THEM)-Great screen, decent enough resolution and is truly IPS, now it's not 178 all angles great, but it's far better than the cheap TN panels I've dealt with with the other two 10 dollar cheaper media players.-Features: Good features, randomly has a built in dictionary, I don't know why, but it's there and it's kind of neat. The on-board microphone is actually pretty decent, sensitive, and you need to do some post processing to mitigate background noise but better than just throwing a cheap one in there.-User Experience: Everything seems to work, you touch it, and it works, has press and hold to enter selection mode and then can easily add multiple things into a collection when in music mode to make a playlist. The keyboard that's on screen for the dictionary is nice and responsive, also not very small, very usable on this tiny device.-Quality: for $50 you're getting a lot of it here, decent screen, above average built in speaker that gets decently loud enough, a 4 pole headphone/mic jack. A microSD card slot that can ACTUALLY accept cards larger than 128, tried a 256GB and it hadn't any issue. The build is great, glass and metal where you need and want them Comes with a decent silicon case and two screen protectors. Thing charges up fast thanks to USB C, during a 15 minute video transfer, it topped off the battery as well which was about 50% full. Decent brightness and darkness with no real light bleed or issue. Came with a very weird 4 ended connector, don't know what that's for. It's a micro b and usb C connector on both ends, with both connectors coming out to form a Y. Very interesting and unique cable. Also, the headphones, something this cheap comes with decent headphones. The cable is braided, and the quality are nice, not Samsung Galaxy AKG bundled headphones nice, but not cheap dime store ones either, the earpiece is metal as well. AGAIN, a lot of weird quality for such a budget device.Cons:Music Play Back: Music sounds fine, and in and of itself, plays well, too. Great scanning and searching feature, no lag skipping through a song to get to a hook. THOUGH, and this is an annoying THOUGH, seems to have a big bug. When playing songs from a folder it will sometimes play a random song besides the one you pressed. I don't know why that is. One theory and not enough testing has happened to verify it fully, is that if you play a song from one folder, and then go into another folder and decide to play a song from that folder. It doesn't interupt the song and change to the new one, it plays a random one which I think is in the previous folder that the song you were listening to but in the position you pressed. So song two from folder A would play even if you press song two from folder B. Very odd.Keep in mind:This isn't an android device or a proper ipod touch like device, keep expectations realistic. I loaded an 8GB video from my SD card and it took a while to lode, and initial playback was weird. Audio syncing issues that seemed to correct itself when enough of the video got buffered. It played well after that. While the screen is IPS, it's also prone to washing out, which was more apparent in the video test I ran. This also doesn't come with ANYTHING but the dictionary installed as far as content goes. No photos to show off the good display. No sample music to test that out. No video sample either. BUT, OTG works flawlessly.SO FAR, this is a huge recommend.
