My chickens prefer this over oyster shells. Seems to last a long time also...A little goes a long way

Our girls were different ages at one point and we needed to supplement the calcium supply for our older ladies. This was a great option and saved us during the transition feeds. Not smelly and they enjoyed the taste enough to keep snacking on it!

I love the texture of the shells and so do my chickens.

I like this brand because the feed for the chickens is great, however, as far as this product goes, the pieces of shell are a bit too big and my hen don’t care for it. Therefore, I am not giving it 5 stars.

I run a small domestic duck rescue and have recently had a duck fall ill with heavy metal poisoning. The vet suspected oyster shells from a different well known brand. When I reached out to Scratch and Peck to find out where their oyster shells are sourced and if they are heavy metals tested they responded so quickly and put my mind at ease that they heavy metals test and their oysters are sourced from the PNW. I needed something safe for my girls to get calcium and they’ve always eaten oyster shells to help. I’m so glad I can feel comfortable giving my flock this brand and know they will be okay. Plus, they really prefer the flaked ones anyway.I only wish they did a much larger bag cause I go through so many.By the way, months later I am still awaiting a response from the big brand if they heavy metal test. (Hard eye roll)

My chickens definitely prefer this brand over all the others I’ve tried. Definitely worth the extra cost.
