The box of 1000 number 14 deck screws arrived well packaged and wrapped in plastic to protect from rain. The screws are coated The drill point on them seems to be high-quality as they have gone through 1/8” and 3/16 steel. The torx head drive has not rounded on any of them and no screws have broken. I am screwing down one and 5/8 inch hard oak decking on a bridge. They have drilled thru the hard oak without issue. I don’t think you could ask for screws to do any better than what these have done.

I have used this type of product before, and can vouch that these function well, and the price is unbeatable. Buying from a based, family-owned American business was icing on the cake. I will make a point to shop these folks whenever I need product they are likely to carry.

This design is great. The tip drills the hole for the threads, the ears cut clearance for the screw body. After the drill point makes the correct diameter for threading, the ears break off and leave the threads to tap their way into the steel. I used these to attach 3/4” plywood to 2” square steel tubing, the worked great

These are great fasteners which helped attach 3/4” OSB to the inside of our metal barn’s interior 2” frame. It’s a bit of trial and error getting used to fastening them in regards to which tool is best. At first it seems like an impact driver would work. But we switched to a drill driver with better results. You can pre drill if you like, but don’t use too large of a bit as it will compromise the holding strength.These work so well, I did buy longer one and have used them to hang 2x8” boards for hanging chains and other logging equipment

Great screws, put 10lbs of them through white oak into 1/8” square tube for some deck platforms with no problems. Follow the instructions on the box and it’s easy going. I’ll purchase again.

Used these and a cordless drill to replace trailer floor with pressure treated lumber. Worked great!

They might work well for self tapping into light gage steel but are almost worthless when attaching 2”x10” into 2”x3” angle iron “. Predrilling both the wood and steel didn’t help.The screws certainly won’t ’drill their own holes’ without extreme pressure just to get through the wood and then fail when they hit the steel. The ‘paddles’ used to create clearance holes in the wood break off when they hit the steel and then jam in the holes, which had to be pre drilled just to get them started, stripping the threads off the screws.Would be wonderful if they performed as advertised but they are a frustration and waste of time and $ in many applications.
