Good wide angle lense for most photodhoot
The Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lens is a wide-angle prime lens designed for APS-C format mirrorless cameras, including the Canon EF-M mount. It's part of Sigma's "Contemporary" line, which aims to balance image quality and compact size. Here's a review based on available information:Key Features and Specifications:* Focal Length: 16mm (equivalent to 25.6mm on Canon EF-M APS-C sensors)* Maximum Aperture: f/1.4 - This bright aperture allows for excellent low-light performance and shallow depth of field.* Lens Construction: 16 elements in 13 groups, including SLD and FLD elements to minimize chromatic aberrations and aspherical elements to control distortion and spherical aberrations.* Autofocus: Stepping motor for quick, quiet, and smooth autofocus, suitable for both stills and video.* Minimum Focusing Distance: 25cm (9.8 inches)* Maximum Magnification Ratio: 1:9.9* Filter Size: 67mm* Number of Diaphragm Blades: 9, rounded for smooth bokeh.* Build Quality: Dust and splash-resistant construction with a brass bayonet mount for durability.* Weight: Approximately 405g for the Canon EF-M mount.Pros:* Excellent Sharpness: Reviews consistently praise the lens for its sharpness, even wide open at f/1.4, with good edge-to-edge performance. Stopping down slightly further enhances clarity.* Bright Aperture: The f/1.4 aperture is a significant advantage for low-light photography and videography, allowing for lower ISO settings and more light gathering. It also provides pleasing bokeh (background blur) for subject isolation.* Wide Angle of View: The 16mm focal length (25.6mm equivalent) is versatile for various applications, including landscapes, street photography, vlogging, and astrophotography.* Good Control of Aberrations: The lens design effectively minimizes chromatic aberration, distortion, and coma, contributing to clean and high-quality images.* Smooth Bokeh: The rounded 9-blade diaphragm helps create smooth and natural-looking out-of-focus areas.* Fast and Quiet Autofocus: The stepping motor delivers quick and silent autofocus, which is beneficial for both still shooting and video recording.* Solid Build Quality: The lens feels well-made and durable, with dust and splash resistance offering added confidence in various shooting conditions.* Relatively Affordable: Compared to similar lenses, the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary offers excellent performance at a competitive price point.Cons:* Size: While part of the "Contemporary" line, it's noted to be a bit larger than some other APS-C prime lenses.* No Optical Stabilization: The lens does not feature built-in optical image stabilization. However, given the wide focal length and bright aperture, this is often less of an issue, especially on cameras with in-body image stabilization (IBIS), though Canon EF-M bodies do not have IBIS.

Solid build quality - Highly recommend !
The media could not be loaded. I recently bought a Sigma lens from Amazon. I shoot my videos myself. I don't have a camera operator. This lens is very helpful for me. Along with this, we can shoot our videos by keeping it very close to us. The Sigma 16mm f/1.4 lens delivers exceptional image quality with sharp details and beautiful blur effect. The wide aperture is perfect for low-light shots and creating a creamy background blur. Fast autofocus and solid build quality make it a must-have for photographers and videographers. Highly recommend!

Great lens for vlog
This lens is great for vlog, street photography and studio videos if you don't need portrait. Only for portrait photography or video, this lens is a big NO.The lens amazon first delivered to me has some curvature issue and was giving me fish eye distortion. So I asked to replace it. The second one I received was truly amazing lens. Wide angle, very good quality of image or video, decent autofocus, background suppression when subject is very close, nice color science of sigma. But unfortunately I choose to return it. Three reasons for that.1. It is too wide for my studio.2. I make talkhead videos & for that I need good portrait lens. This one not good for that.3. For my vlogging videos, this one is too heavy for me. I have used it with canon m50. I can hold that only for 2/3 minutes. After that my arms started paining very badly. The quality of image and video I was getting, were outstanding. Feeling really sorry that I have to let this lens go. Thank you amazon for such smooth service.**One more thing, if you someone make films, short film, adds etc. and need good cinematic look with wide angle, this lens is perfect choice.

Great Lens for Night Shooting
The media could not be loaded. One of the nicest choices I have ever made on lenses. I used this lens for a tele-film shoot at night and Its performance was amazing. Negligible servo noise and focusing is fast enough. The Bokeh effect is not as effective as you find in a canon original 50mm (f1:1.8), but that is also acceptable.Really worth buying. (The quality of the attached video-clip has been trimmed to reduce the size)

Best lens for m50
No doubt thia lens change the m50 game alot. You will not regret this lens. Though not having image stabilization but footage doesnt shake badly.Weight is little more but doesnt feel as uniformly distributed. Just go for it if you have m50
