Well worth the wait!
Let me just say when I finished The Duke's Shotgun Wedding, book 1 in the House of Calydon series, I immediately friend-ed Stacy Reid on FB and messaged her about how much I LOVED the novella and asked when the next book was coming out. Because I needed it like five minutes before I reached the last page. So that'll just give you a clue about how much I was looking forward to her full length novel about Sebastian's brother Anthony. And I so wasn't disappointed. Actually, it exceeded what I imagined. You have a wounded hero, betrayed by the father who was supposed to love and protect him. You have the heroine with a secret of her own that makes treading the already treacherous waters of London society even more precarious. Throw in a "suitor"--and I use the term very lightly, You'll see why, because why wouldn't you buy this book?--who refuses to take "no" for an answer, and the story opens with a smoldering attraction concealed beneath a sharp battle of wits, a dance of wills, and a God-I-hate-you villain. Anthony is determined to melt Phillipa's icy exterior--an icy exterior that she's erected out of necessity against past hurts and the harsh judgments of the ton and her family. They're both wounded and watching them come together, both emotionally as well as in SUPER HOT love scenes, is what romance is all about. Breath-taking romance. The kind that has you placing your hand over your heart while you're reading. I loved the drama, the back-and-forth that was dry, witty and funny but so vulnerable, too. Anthony and Phillipa both won me over from page one. All I have to say is the scene in the ballroom...the declaration... I'm not saying anymore because it would spoil the moment, but oh wow. I sighed, I freaking clapped! LOL! I really did! It was so awesome. I loved The Irresistible Miss Peppiwell, and it will go back on my TBR pile so I can read it again...and again... Looking forward to more books by Stacy Reid! Impatiently looking forward, I might add...

Love and the Lord
The strict rules of propriety play an important part in this story. Lord Anthony Thornton just learned that he and his sister are illegitimate. Both will be cast out by their peers if their secret is revealed. When Anthony meets Miss Phillipa Peppiwell, he is attracted by her. He has met a kindred spirit and the love of his life. She wants to break free of her restraints and have adventures, but she has a secret that she needs to protect. She is not a virgin. Will these two be able to find happiness and love with each other? Stacy Reid has given us two complex and powerful characters that are trapped by what society rules as proper conduct. The story had an intriguing and thought provoking plot as well as a passionate romance. I cared for Anthony and Phillipa. They are fierce in their determination to be their own person. The secondary characters add to the story. I definitely want to know more about how Constance deals with the changes in her life. The dialogue and setting were a perfect backdrop for this book. I couldn't stop reading. I had to know what would happen next. There was so much action. I loved The Irresistible Miss Peppiwell.

Absolutely amazing book!
OH EM GEE. Ms. Reid just shot to the top of my auto-buy list. Phillipa Pippiwell may be the ice queen, but all that cold turns to blistering HAWT steam when the delicious Anthony Thornton gets his hands in all the right places. The writing here is exquisite--and I don't mean overwritten, but with each word beautifully placed on the page. The plot is fresh and original, with definite twists on the usual scenarios of the era making for a truly exciting read. I found I held my breath more than once. I tensed. I happy-sighed. And yes, I swooned. The big moment at the end was amazeballs and I don't want to spoil it for anyone, so I'll just say my breath caught and I wanted to yell at a bunch of parlor-dwellers and my heart broke...THEN THE THING HAPPENED and I'm pretty sure a bug flew in my eye or something because I *may have cried* and ERMAGERD was it ever beautiful. I'm hooked, Ms. Reid. Freaking HOOKED. Amazing work.ARC received in trade for an honest review...then I bought the book anyway. So there.

Pretty good.....
I really like this author, but I found my mind wandering a tad thru this book. I was kinda meh.....about the heroine. But I loved Anthony.I swoon for the blondes, they’re so rare and I have a Viking fetish. Ha!But he was really a great, kind, sexy Lord. I was very undecided if I thought she was right for him throughout the book. She seemed too modern. They seemed at very opposing views on marriage. He really wanted it based on his birth and all she wanted to do was travel the world. So, strange bedfellows. It’s a good read but I’ve read better from this author.

Very Good Read
Good story of Anthony and Philippa. They are drawn to each other other, but Philippa chafes at restrictions placed on young women of society. Trying to live down scandal from Boston, she is urged by her family to behave and marry a title to help her father’s business interests. One man wants to make her his mistress. Anthony wants to make her his wife. Anthony has scandal to live down too. There is kidnapping, rescue, and elopement in the plot. Very entertains.

A powerful writing talent
Just when you think things can’t get any hotter, they do. Just when you think things can’t get any more dramatic, they do. Stacy Reid has written a book that will suck you in, twist you around, and spit you out, exhausted but fulfilled, at the end. I would recommend Miss Peppiwell to anyone who likes a really strong heroine who’s not afraid to push the boundaries of convention.

Scandalous and Brilliant read!
This was a brilliant read! I couldn't put it down - had to keep reading to find out what happened next. I loved the development of all the characters and all the scandalous events that took place. It was well written and very smooth . I wish there was more on the Orwell character and also what happened with Constance. Apart from that I loved. Can't wait for the next one!!!!

Meh
Weak. All appeared to be a rushed attempt to cash in on Fifty Shades. Could barely finish it and I read a lot of trash....

Naughty but nice.
I enjoyed the first book in this series and was expecting another in a similar vein, but OMG !!!!!It's not just naughty its very HOT. Word of warning if you are used to a chaste kiss, or even a sexy romp, be aware this goes a lot further, more 50 shades........Loved it.
