JWIN MICROCASSETTE RECORDER w/ CASSETTE TAPE & PHONE PICK UP

I bought this hoping to be able to listen to a micro cassette I'd saved of my family members talking on it. The cassette I have is in just as excellent condition as it was when I first bought it over 20 years ago as I've kept it protected. I was so hoping to be able to just listen to this cassette once more for the first time in over 20 years. The sound quality is terrible! There's a lot of noise from the recorder and you have to turn it all the way up just to pick up anything and even then it's very straining. I had a quality microcassette recorder all those years ago and it was very heavy duty, but more stream lined than this one and I never had any problems hearing this cassette play, nor was there any volume problems. This COBY one is very light weight and flimsy. Like I said, there's a lot of noise from the recorder itself and the volume on it is terrible. I can't believe I have to spend $300-400 on one of these just to have quality. I am very heartbroken because I only purchased this for the sentimental value of being able to play a cassette that had some of my now deceased family members talking together on it.

Amazon was very fair with me in the handling of this order which went sadly awry. I paid to have it expedited is how badly I wanted it to be right; never entertained the thought that might not be~~and it was. It was awful. Broke the only cassette tape that came with it so had to rush out to get more as I was under a deadline. Now the new tapes only revealed that this recorder recorded it's own workings so well that they overtook the object of the recording. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. They should not be on the market IMHO. A total loss for me, and Amazon refunded my money. Thank you Amazon. I love you.

Bought for a friend who had an extensive microcassette archive and wanted to attempt transferring them to MP3 form.For the price, this Coby player works great (at least in playback mode).Construction is cheap, but it feels more than sturdy enough for the job.Recording with the onboard microphone does produce some static, but I don't really have a another micro-cassette recorder to compare it to.For sure it is worse than much newer and expensive digital recorders in my household, but that's hardly a fair comparison.

This was a perfect for the purpose I bought it for. My mother passed away 17 years ago. I came across a micro cassette tape from my answering machine that had several messages from her to me and I sons. Made me feel like it was yesterday hearing her voice again.

Seems to work well. It came with 1 Maxell tape. I found that only the Maxell tapes I have worked in it. Don't know why that would be the case.

I wanted a mini recorder because I had some old tapes with my son talking as a child.. it works, however isnt very good quality. Everytime I use i have to put batteries in and as soon as Im done I have to remove them because this unit doesnt completely turn off. I got what i paid for because it was cheap. I would suggest looking for something better quality if you are going to use alot.
