I'll start by saying I have the cheapest cello money can buy and i had literally the WORST strings you could ever imagine. They always sounded terrible and now they're 20+ years old. I've been getting back into playing and contemplating buying a new cello because it sounded so terrible but new strings made a HUGE difference. These strings I replaced my old ones with are so infinitely higher quality. The A string is especially noticable. My old A string was VERY harsh and this new one sounds phenomenal. Hopefully these last 20 years too but if they don't id still buy them again.

I have only played cello a couple times and don't really know the difference but man these sound amazing.

These are worse than the cheap chinese strings! The response is slow and scratchy howly to start. The C and G string are the worst they are very dull and take a lot of pressure to create sound the A string is very sharp and metallic sounding. The d string is the only one that sounds decent. Save your money!

My daughter plays cello with me at our Catholic Church. She has been learning for the past two years and it’s been lovely. She had been using basic cheap strings until a few weeks ago when we upgraded to these. The sound is amazing. She has far more dynamic range and control and there is a richness to the resonance. Our church building is small and not well designed acoustically but her sound now, finally, carries through the building in a way she couldn’t achieve before. I highly recommend these strings. Absolutely fabulously beautiful.

"Germany" thrown into the description the way it is is obviously meant to mislead the shopper. As if that's not enough, one of the photos accompanying the description shows the back of the box where "MI & VI Inc. (U.S.A.)" is proudly displayed. It's only after purchasing the strings and receiving the box that you look at the bottom edge and see that the strings are a China made product. The strings are ok, but, I wouldn't have purchased them if the description had revealed their China origin. The seller knows that.
