Great Blu-ray player for my Mac. Works well and is quiet. Very nice design with a rubberised texture. Much nicer than the cheaper ones available. Also works in standing position which is very useful.

The drive works well on both mac and windows without any additional drivers needed. Used it primarily with an additional software to rip my movie collection to .mkv and its a great companion for that since its reads all the necessary data.

I bought this product 8+ months ago to use with a top-end laptop and the latest PowerDVD sw to watch Blu-ray and other discs, borrowed from a film rental service. In other words, latest technology, up-to-date and high-end sw, and genuine discs. Yet the results are disappointing.Almost every time it stops halfway, and I have to restart to get it to play.And nearly 20% of the time it simply cannot play the Blu-ray dvd disc.Pioneer is a highly reputable company. But this time I feel I have been badly let down.AVOID this product for Blu-ray. And Pioneer have shattered my faith in them.

Nice drive and fine for watching movies but doesn't work with MakeMkv. Can't downgrade Firmware.

I went with pioneer because they are a good brand and so far product seems fine. it can be a bit finicky to get the disc in feels like something might break, but once in, it is quick, quiet and does the job. it is quite expensive for what it is. I'm using with Mac computer - the software it comes with is not compatible, which is annoying. Get a software for mac, Pioneer!

I bought it for archiving all my family photos and videos

Haven’t used it much but I just plug it into my Mac and it works great, no need for any extra setup.The matte black finish is awesome too, is a very pretty little drive.
