Provides good supplements to a curriculum
The examples and explanations in this book helped with thermodynamics. Would recommend this book and a hilarious professor when learning thermo.

Educational
This book was required for a college class. I wanted to purchase it, but did not want to spend the money, so i rented it from Amazon instead. I even thought about buying it after the class for the remainder of the price. Decided not to, then Amazon sent it back to me saying I damaged the cover, and charged me for it, lol, for better or worse. I imagine there are cheaper books out there, but the tables were useful, as were the examples in it.

One of the best
Having seen various textbooks across various disciplines, this may be one of the best. Really anything by Yunus Cengel is good. Explanations are clear. Examples are thorough and aren't overly simplified like other text books. Practical applications to topics are worked into each chapter. I would definitely recommend this book to any one taking a thermo course.

Good book for learning Thermo in engineering.
Great book for an introduction to thermodynamics. I used this book for mechanical engineering thermodynamics 1 and 2. It is a really solid book as far as content goes, all of the necessary material is there in my opinion. The outline of the material could use a little work in chapter 7 (Entropy), I had to read it several times to understand when to use certain concepts, equations, and tables. In general, the chapters tend to run very long because this book is filled with 'filler' material. (Material that is related to the subject but not at all necessary to the understanding of the subject). For instance the author might spend a whole page talking about the history of turbines or something and their developments throughout history but only a paragraph or two on how to calculate efficiency or some other thermodynamic concept. In total, all of the necessary material is there, you might have to read a lot to gain a little though. The book is written in an easy to read manner though, it is written in common English lol with not too much complicated technical wording. Also, the necessary equations are derived in an understandable manner for an undergraduate (with reasonable effort on the part of the student) without too much complicated calculus. So in total, this is a good book for taking ME thermo 1and 2. I think it was necessary for my understanding of the material and I would recommend this book to anyone especially if you do not have the best professor.

I love it as in
I love it as in, " yay it came in the mail quickly! two days after class had started, cause I am dreading the class and waited to order it last minute!!" Do I REALLY love it? It's actually rather funny in some sections. I especially like the passive aggressiveness towards America never changing to the metric system. HAHAHA

Genuinely one of the few textbooks in my college career that has ever been useful. The reading's were insightful and easy to understand. The tables in the back were complete and important and the graphics throughout the book were all very well done.

This book is an eighth edition, however it is an international edition. The problems don't match up to the United States version. The book is basically worthless to me. When I purchased it the ISBN matched up, and the product details did not mention that it was an international edition.
