HMS Hood 1920 - 1:1000 Ship Model (Amercom ST-4)

Outstanding detail for a model of this size. When I received mine, I saw a structure on the model I could not identify. After some research, I learned that the HMS Hood had been equipped with an anti-aircraft weapon known as an Unrotated Projectile launcher, a twenty-barrelled rocket launcher whose rockets trailed a wire (the idea was to entangle an attacking aircraft in the wire). The launcher structures on the model (five of them) were correct enough that they could be recognized from pictures of the real device. I never knew these things even existed, but the accuracy of this model allowed me to add a little extra knowledge about the real ship. You can't ask much more of a model of any size and to find it on a 1:1000 is amazing. Well done Amercom!

While it is still nice to look at as a whole the craftsman and quality ship is pretty bad. They definitely cheeped out on the craftmanship, some parts are not seated correctly and not straight. The mast was bent aswell. Nice for a non-serious collector like myself but not for anyone wanting good quality products,

First this model is just an exceptional value. It is not perfect, but it is better than many models of 1/600 or 1/700 scale. It is completely assembled and molded in the primary colors.I bought all 5 available and can't wait for the next release of Graf Spee, Scharnhorst, and Prinz Eugen as pictured on the reverse of the package. Really think the USS Yorktown class should be added as well. Keep the price low and you have a winner

Very cool little smaller than I was expecting but was surprised at the detail really happy with it though and fast delivery

I love it! It looks great and I'm glad that it is one of the first pieces in my collection. Only complaint that I have is that the flag snapped off. =(

My son was sad when receiving the ship. There are many broken pieces as attachment image and no documentation that introduces the ship.

Looks great. Stand looked a little cheap. Very well detailed for 20$. Paint was a bit sloppy but clean lines on the hull. Superstructure was cheap looking but accurate.
