This Dock... Just Works!
I recently bought an HP Envy x360, my first laptop upgrade in a very long time, and as we have now implemented a Work-From-Home policy, I needed the ability to hook up to several monitors and use an Ethernet connection (surprise, this laptop doesn't have an Ethernet port!) So, after doing some researching, I picked this dock. This dock just works, without any driver installs or any issues of any kind. And this is on both Windows 10 and Fedora 31 Linux. I had Windows until I got it set up the rest of the way for my normal workflow, and I have to say, it does the job exceedingly well on both platforms. The USB Type-C connection to the laptop provides connectivity as well as charges the laptop, which is fantastic. Monitor support works great with my multiple monitors, USB connectivity with those ports is fast and I don't see any difference in performance that matters to my workflow. Plus, of course, the Ethernet connection is stable and reliable.I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has a laptop that it's compatible with, which should be -most- Windows/Linux devices with a USB Type-C 3.0+ port / Thunderbolt port. Can't speak to MacOS or Chrome OS though.

HP Dock
Works great with my HP Pavilion i7 set up. Allows me to connect the peripherals (keyboard, mouse, monitor) I need and choose over exhausting the few ports provided on the Pavilion laptop. Now I have ports available for usb drives, headphones, additional monitor, if desired. Dock stays cool to touch, no overheating like some other products offered. Read the reviews. This Dock purchased through Amazon, not HP directly.

Woks well
If trying to use 3 monitors that are all display port monitors you’ll want to get an HDMI to display port cable (which comes with an extra USB cable to power the conversion) and you’ll need to connect that one directly to your HP laptop or the hub may struggle to supply the amount of power needed to use a higher resolution on one of the 3 monitors. A display port to HDMI cable (these don’t come with the little USB cable on them) will not work. Also, careful when connecting the USB-C cable. If you connect USB-C cables upside down the USB ports on the hub won’t work and it’s difficult to understand why. Connecting them upside down is easy to do if you buy an extra USB-C extension cable. If the USB ports, keyboard and mouse aren’t working try flipping the USB-C connection around.Overall, the hub works well but is a little time consuming to understand the quirks when getting the 3 monitors to work.

Works with my HP Envy
Works great with my Costco special HP envy. I've got an Ethernet cable, large monitor and all my USB devices plugged into the dock. The dock came with a 120 watt power supply, and the usbc from the doc is the only thing connected to my laptop. It has no problem powering the laptop through the usbc cable. All functions work great with Windows 11, I just pull out the single usbc cable from my laptop when I want to go mobile. I did go to the HP site and download the latest firmware, network and audio drivers.

Don’t Buy this or Asurion Warranty
Dock didn’t work. I jumped through all the hoops with HP, after getting run around from Asurion Warranty service. I went through all the hoops with the manufacturer, which in this case is HP.I ended up having to purchase a different Dock in order to get my laptop to work with monitors.HP was willing to refund me the purchase price but because I bought from Amazon they said I have to go through Amazon for a refund of the original purchase price.Asurian just makes everything so difficult to warranty that you give up.I’m done buying Asurian warranties and about a step away from buying anything else from Amazon.Don’t waste your money or time.
