First, the ribbon is convoluted when compared to OEM. Why would you shove that much extra ribbon in your controller? Second picture and third picture demonstrate how short the contacts are for charging the joy con battery/connecting to the system. Last picture demonstrates how this replacement lacks holes for LEDs and buttons.It might work, but why would you even try? There are more compatible parts out there.

I had previously purchased one of these to replace a rail I had foolishly broken while swapping out the shell on my Switch. I had installed it correctly, and it simply didn't work. It didn't recognize or charge my right joycon, leaving me to play with a spare controller in docked mode.I later bought a second one in an attempt to spare myself from having to buy another Switch specifically to play on the go, and thankfully, this one did the trick. I don't know if the first part I ordered was damaged during shipping or was faulty from the start, but at least my problem was solved eventually. Just be aware that you might be playing the lottery a bit when ordering this part.

The contact prongs on my day 1 switch rail broke. It would not detect my controller, and for some reason my switch was not turning on properly. This new rail works perfect and and I am no longer having the other problem mentioned. I can actually play my switch again. So thankful this part was available.Also, not a bad thing, but it came wrapped in a plastic baggie inside a yellow Amazon bag as I ordered it with other items. Just a heads up to people who like to know how things may or may not come packaged.
