WeatherHawk SM-19 SkyMate Hand-Held Wind Meter, Orange/Black

Has a lot of features for the money. Loses a star because the instructions are not the most intuitive or easy to follow. Backlighting would be nice.

I purchased this product because of the U.S.A.F Combat Weather career field. These troops use a weather meter and I was curious as to how it was used. After much research and attaining an age where I could actually afford one,I got one.I go out into my back yard and check conditions.Take readings in various locations around the yard,at work,and on the way to work. At night I crawl around in my backyard taking readings at low level,for long range shots(no,my yard is not 1000's of acres,imagination people) but now I understand certain terms used in tv weather reports,some atmospheric conditions around my area,barometric pressure( i need another meter for that one) humidity,etc. For now I enjoy using it as a new toy,but can see how important this device will be when I need it. For the record I live in south Florida

This product is OK. It's a neat little gadget and I love gadgets. It seems to do what it is supposed to do. However, it is made out of thin cheap plastic. It is covered by a plastic sheath for protection but if it is dropped a few times - there goes your $100.00.

Does what its supposed to great for outside and inside to check ventilation effectiveness.Great for atvs , aircraft owners , and sitting by pool or golfing .

Nice little tool

I use the WeatherHawk SkyMate Hand-Held Wind Meter to check air flow, temperature, and humidity in agricultural storage facilities.The pros: It seems to be accurate (more accurate than my thermo-couple hand-held meters). It's small and light weight, and I can just carry it with me easily. It's comfortable to use overall.The cons: It's slow to turn off. It's awkward to switch between the temperature and humidity readings because you have to go into the menus to make the switch. I'm considering getting a second one so I can keep one set for temperature and the other one set for humidity so that I can read both of them quickly.
