Quick Tips for Airline Travel With This Carrier
I was very concerned about finding a carrier that was airline approved, had wheels, and was easy to use under the airline seat. I read many reviews about this carrier and decided to return my original purchase for this carrier. I am happy that I returned the other and purchased this one because it met my needs well. Here are my Pros and Cons:Cons -It is a little difficult to take the carrier off the 'cart' if you are in a hurry. The same goes for placing the carrier back on the 'cart' if you are in a crowd of travelers headed to baggage claim. You will have to carry the 'cart' and the carrier and whatever carry-ons you may have until you find a place to re-velcro the carrier back on the cart. This can be a challenge with the pet in the carrier. There is only one pocket to place doggy bags, food, and a water dish - not all will fit in the pocket at once. It would be nice if there was another pocket. The handle is a bit tricky when first learning how to use it. You have to pull a tad bit once it is extended and then it will bend so you can pull it. Not always easy to do when in a hurry in a crowded airport. (I practiced several times before being in the airport and I still could not do this maneuver quickly. The same goes for putting the handle down. You have to hold the button in, push the handle down and then give it a good tap to have it go all the way in. This is not easy to do with a pet in the carrier and a line of passengers waiting to board the plane. (I took the 'cart' off and put the handle down before entering the jetway since I already knew it was not feasible for me to do this quickly and I carried the carrier and 'cart' with me).The carrier needs to be placed on the cart exactly centered or it will not be balanced. (I could not do this quickly in a crowded airport on the fly. The velcro is strong and with a pet in the carrier, it can be difficult.)The velcro will stick to the airplane carpet and not budget (I used the emergency card under the carrier so I could slide it when it was time to de-plane).Pros -It is a nice carrier and looks beautiful. It fits perfectly under the middle seat on Southwest Airlines. It rolls smoothly. The construction is great and your pet can see well out of several screened panels. The piping is strong yet flexible to bend enough to fit under an airline seat without smashing your pet. There are two ways to place your pet into the carrier - in the front and through the top. Both work well, especially the one in the front if you need to provide food or water to your pet while traveling.Overall, this is a great carrier for airline travel. I would recommend practicing with the handle before heading to the airport so you are familiar with the quirks of raising and lower it. Also practice setting the carrier on top of the cart a few times to get a feel for where the carrier should be placed and how strong the velcro is. That is one step I neglected to do and I think it would have come in handy.

Largest pet carrier that still fits under the airline seat
My 10-year-old Jack Russell has never been on a plane before so I was quite nervous about this trip. She is quite large at 20 pounds and long. She's pretty much at or over the maximum size that I would consider OK to fly with. Thus I was quite nervous about this trip. I have spent many hours online and in-store researching and checking out various bags. The first bag I tried was the large Sherpa that is so popular. I stuffed her in one at Petsmart, she did not like it at all. She had no room to move around and could not even come close to lifting her head up. I was surprised considering the dimensions of the Sherpa. I even checked to make sure I had the right size.I was then going to try the large Sturdibag, which is the carrier that I really wanted. But it is shaped like a dome and smaller than the Sherpa I tried. The dome would not give her any room on top.The carrier I almost bought was the Petsfit expandable. I think this would have worked, but i was looking for something just a tiny bit larger. Then I found this large Dbest carrier at Pet Supermarket. I tried it out, and much to my surprise even though it's only an extra inch or 2 in dimensions versus the other 3, there just appeared to be a lot more room for her. This is due to the design of this bag, which is the best I've seen so far. You will notice that it is tapered towards the back to fit under the seat, and it is square on top. This meant she wasn't so confined. She could still turn around, which she certainly could not do in the Sherpa. Thus this is the least claustrophobic of all of the bags that I have seen. Plus I figured I could used the wheels since I was packed carrying other bags.I flew Southwest, which is very dog friendly. The only other airline that I know of is Spirit that takes 20lb+ dogs. SW is $95 and Spirit is $125 for carrying dogs. SW is best since they also let you check 2 bags free. Ultimately it depends on who goes nonstop. You can see from the pictures that it did stick out 2", but the stewardess did not bat an eye at this. They didn't even notice that I had my dog until I was exiting the plane. Plus I would recommend you get the black carrier, as you really can't tell that there's a dog inside. They think it's luggage. And there is still plenty of ventilation. I did notice that you will want to sit in either the window seat which I was at, or the middle seat which gives you even more room. The aisle seat, although I still think she would have fit, would've really been a small space, and I would not of been able to put my feet on either side. Only the middle seat, would allow me to put a foot on each side. I did not have a problem with the size of the bag or foot space. But then I am fairly skinny. Now as for the Velcro on the bottom. I detached the wheel platform of course before I boarded the plane. Used the shoulder strap to carry her on and stuck the wheel platform in the overhead bin. The main issue people noted about this carrier, is the 2 Velcro strips that are needed to attach the wheel platform, now are a nuisance because it grabs the carpet and and makes it hard to slide under the seat. I had to stick my arm underneath and use my hand as a buffer between the Velcro and the carpet to get it to slide backwards. I'm still not sure I got it all the way back. All hard with dog Inside. It was only the rear Velcro that was an issue. I was able to do this, but on a packed plane, I can see this may be a problem for some people. I would recommend that you bring a piece of cardboard or something similar so you could put it under the carrier and slide it under the seat easily.I did not have any problems with the telescoping handle, or the wheels falling off as some people have noted. As far as I'm concerned this is the only bag I would ever fly with for a dog my size. With the possible exception of the Petlife expandable. One other thing I certainly recommend, is as you can see the small bag of treats that I brought along. My dog would NOT put her head down so I could zip up the top, and instead gave me that stubborn look. She would for the treats however in order to get them.Well done Dbest, you saved the day!PS. I will post pics ASAP.

Great product for the price!
I purchased the large carrier to transport my 20 lb Golden Retriever puppy home on Spirit Airlines. I read the reviews for all the travel tips for flying with this carrier. He had a little bit of wiggle room but not very much. I took a paper bag with me to put under the carrier so the Velcro that holds the wheels onto the underside of the carrier would not stick to the carpet. Otherwise it would be very difficult to slide the carrier under the seat. (I ready that tip from another review) That worked perfectly. This is why I took one star off the review. The manufacturer should fix this issue. The carrier was able to collapse some so it could fit under the seat. Also, if you take a sharp turn around a corner, the carrier may tip over as you make the turn. Overall, great product for the price!

I'm super sad about this pet carrier as I was really ...
I'm super sad about this pet carrier as I was really excited for it, but it has a design flaw. The carrier itself is great, but the trolly isn't calibrated, so if my cats don't stay close to the back of the carrier while I'm pulling it, the trolly tips forward. If anyone has any advice on how I could correct this, I'd love to hear it.

Not accurate
Ordered a medium size for my one year old cat and was sent a small size. She barely fits inside.Size selection of the product does not matter, they send randomly.

Very nice carrier, would buy again!
Solid carrier! Mine didn’t come with the arm strap but handle works just fine. Like the additional attachment for their collar inside and the nice soft bedding is great as well. My cat loves it!

Not approved by WestJet
I bought this carrier based on the reviews I read about other airlines allowing it as a carry on for my Boston Terrier. Good thing I went to WestJet prior to purchasing tickets to check. They definitely said no!

My Maine coon X fitted well
Brilliant for my big cat for his vet check as I don’t drive. He actually enjoyed the trip home. Lounging like a boss and he rolled along. Well made and sturdy
