Better than expected - Great for DIYer
This review is for homeowners or DIY'ers. I bought this for a home renovation project where I have 38 receptacle boxes to cut drywall around. I took a little extra time with the first couple to ensure accurate alignment and reliability. There is a small amount of play but once I got the hang of the positioning I was happy. The magnets work pretty well on 1/2" (12.7mm) thick lite drywall although I'd suspect it not being great for 5/8" (just a guess). I'm not in a hurry so taking the extra time to position these for a nice fit worked well for me. Yes, it's slower than a Rotozip but I like having a better fit and mudding less. If you only have a few boxes to cut out then it's probably not worth it. I had a variety of receptacle boxes from both Home Depot and Lowes, some thick, thin, deep, shallow, etc. and these fit them all. I even used it on a round light box. To that, I drew the line around the box and then diagonals from the corners to find the center to drill the hole. Would be great if both pieces had a 3/8" hole in the center for drilling light boxes but I know they sell another version for that instead.

What's ruining a sheet of Drywall worth to you? Pays for itself in first use!
Sometimes I'm skeptical of "tools" like this which seem to be approaching a gimmick. I had a very complicated drywall replacement of an old backsplash above a counter top that had three outlets on it. This tool worked its magic like a freshly sharpened knife used to slice ripe tomatoes. One suggestion I have is that if your studs (and thus boxes) are level, when you place the outer magnet square on the drywall to trace your outlet box, put a torpedo level on top of it and ensure its level before tracing around it. Overall I did four cuts for four outlets with my first use of the tool and it worked as advertised. I highly recommend it. If it saves you one 4x12 sheet of drywall, it's already paid for itself.

Convenient and works great!
This is fantastic! I used this to cut out outlet holes in our wall panels and it worked perfectly! The magnets are super strong and we were able to identify where to cut holes in the panelingThe packaging of this product is also great!

Pricey, but works well if installed properly
They worked well, but are a bit pricey. They're well built and should hold up over time. You have to ensure you line up the arrows, if not, your cut will be way off.

Where has this been all my life?!?!?
This thing works great!!Takes the measuring and guesswork out of putting in outlets. Perfect hole for an outlet or switch box every single time!! Put the one smaller magnet in the outlet or switch, put up the sheet of drywall, then the outer magnet snaps right into place, trace it, and cut the outlet /switch hole.Very handy tool!!

Very skeptical of these but damn they work amazing!
I stumbled across these on here and decided to give them a go! I got to say I am so glad I did! I am by no means an expert but these made cutting outlets in the drywall sooooo easy! It takes a little getting used to finding the perfect fit but you soon learn the little wiggle that sets it perfect!TRY THEM!!!

Easy
I love this little invention !Works great and makes perfect tight outlet holes on sheetrock for sureOne thing …make sure you get it magnetized strongly before you mark your hole .It can move a little off side to sideYou will feel the correct sweet spot after a time or two using itIt will save you a ton of time while doing sheetrockAlso the set up I got has 3 outlet inserts and one main magnet to trace outlineHaving 3 outlet inserts is really nice if you have a sheet of Sheetrock that has 3 outlets in it , you can easily trace all 3 and cut them out one time !
