I had to edit my review, because after trying and trying, I managed to program it. As I suspected, the poorly written instructions were to blame. Upgraded rating from 1 to 3. Remote works fine now, but I was very close to throwing it away when I decided to give it another shot.If you are manually programming it (learning function) EXIT THE LEARNING FUNCTION after "teaching" it a function AND ENTER IT AGAIN to store the next one. For example, do the procedure it says to learn "volume up", EXIT, then enter again into the learning function and "teach" it "volume down", EXIT and so on. Instructions will have you believe once you are in learning function you can "teach" it to memorise all buttons and THEN exit the programming, but you can't. It will only work with the last one you programmed, because it only stores one function at a time.Crappy instructions that are probably the cause for all bad reviews. It works fine once you get it programmed.----------------ORIGINAL REVIEW:Does not work. Only managed to make one button work with the learning function, horrible instructions in broken English (makes you wonder if the poorly written instructions may be the problem and not the hardware). Still trying to see if changing combinations when trying to set it up will make it work. No reset button or instructions to take it back to factory settings. It's crap.

I bought this for my dad, who was always changing his tv settings by accident. With this remote he can't change any settings that would necessitate an emergency phone call in the middle of the day. It's simple so he's not overwhelmed by the buttons. My dad also has a disability and we needed a remote with large buttons.This remote did auto-program itself and work fine with our Sharp TV. A couple times over the past few months it lost its settings and had to be reprogrammed. So I decided to buy a couple of them and have spares in case one stops working and my dad would have another that is functional. Two of these were still cheaper than the another model up from someone else. The others I bought were black A-TV10 but are from the same company. Overall it does the job. Minus 2 stars for the loss of programming.

Poorly written programming instructions, but I was ultimately able to figure it out and now it works just fine. No complaints other than the instructions.If you are having trouble programming, try this:1) Turn your TV on manually2) press either the A or B button on the remote for several seconds3) once the red light on the remote turns on, release the button4) The remote will now attempt to pair itself with your TV. This may take several minutes, as it has many codes to attempt. Just be patient and keep pointing the remote toward your TV5) As soon as the TV shuts itself off, press the A or B button again (whichever you pressed in step 2)6) Your remote should now be paired with your TV - you can test this by pressing the power button on the remote, changing channels, adjusting volume, etc

I ordered this for my grandpa and my dad attempted to set it up. The instructions really need to be rewritten, they are missing several steps, but some of the reviews were helpful. It's the perfect remote for a 93 year old with advanced stage Parkinson's, as soon as we get it to work with his tv.

I bought this for the learning function. Tried to teach it volume up/down for a Samsung TV and also some functions from a DirecTV. Couldn't get it to work. Was able to get through Step 1 and 2, but when it came to step 3, the instructions say the LED should "keep flashing". Mine never flashed but stays on until the learning mode is exited. Tried a whole bunch of things, nothing worked. Too bad, because I like the remote otherwise. It fits nicely in the hand, button presses seem good, quality seems good, locking function of the lanyard is nifty, has a waterproof battery cover inside, etc.

Not compatible with my Tv.

Very hard to program to tv.
