Superb results!
Bought this to replace a car cleaning branded DA polisher.Initially I was reluctant to trust a powertool brand over a car cleaning brand but trusted the reputation of Makita.I wasn't disappointed! It is a little pricey for a naked tool, but if you have the batteries it is a worthy investment. The tool is well balanced and the battery lasts a long time. The best feature is the ability to turn on the forced rotation which is really helpful to spread polish or wax. You can then turn it off for final polishing. You can lock out the switch and lock it on when in use.The trigger is also variable speed which is good to get started - this is no top of the speed setting dial. The results speak for themselves, so long as you use good pads. I don't use Makita pads, but the Chemical guys hex pads fit well.

Extremely smooth in action
Biggest thing of note when using this tool as opposed to my DAS - 6 polisher was the reduction in vibration. This tool is very smooth and duration is good on a 5 AMP battery. You will need at least two batteries for cycling purporse if detailing a full car so bear that cost in mind. No regrets with this purchase. I have always found Makita to be very high end and a fair rival to my Festool products.

Goes through batteries
Plenty powerful but this uses a lot of power so you’ll need 3-4 4ah batteries for a large car. I’d recommend the wired one unless you really want cordless. Other than battery usage I can’t fault it.

Superb quality from Makita
Bit the bullet and bought the Makita cordless polisher after being disappointed with another well known brand polisher. Very easy to use being extremely well balanced in the hand. My 5ah battery lasts long enough to polish both my family hatchbacks. Well worth the extra initial outlay as this will last a lifetime.
