Does it have a distal taper?

Constant thickness. It’s a bit floppy and not my go to cutter. But, it’s the longest I have. It’s hard to get a good draw cut with it. Acts more like a chopper. I think because it is already curved so much. I like the bulbus Imicasa Colima...18 in. I believe...double edge. The thing just cuts, but only use machetes for softer or green stuff. Hard mature honey locust sticks really requires a hatchet even though I have many machetes and some nice curved Salvadoran goloks.

Any sheaths available?

Im a land surveyor in fl. , use the blade daily. Awesome blade once u get the swing down.. the blade will bend but still worth it.. no sheath that i kno of

How thick is this blade?

The blade is about 2.8 mm thick. It's a very good quality machete
