Outer Space Rocks Meteorite Stick

I outfitted myself for meteorite collecting. Just got my Fisher 75 Detector and Garrett Pro Pointer for in the hole work .Was told a magnetic end stick was a good thing to bring with you to grab metallic surface objects ( hopefully meteorites).This stick came via USPS fast and was very well packaged. The stick is of very good quality construction. It is a strong plastic collapsible tube with a strong rare earth magnet enclosed in plastic coating on the end. The stick is black in color, says Outer Space Rocks Meteorite Stick and has a really nice lanyard to go around your hand. Also there was a pleasant surprise. Enclosed on the end of the stick near the hand lanyard is a compass. Tested it. It works. I guess its far enough away from the magnet to avoid deviation of the needle. The stick is not that heavy. Should be able to use it a long time without getting tired.Also 2 small iron meteorites from West Africa with an authentication card came with it. Even in the small plastic baggie the meteorites literally flew to the rare earth magnet. I was about 2 inches from them. A strong pull. Next tried a heavy key ring loaded with keys and a all purpose folding pliers tool, about 10 times the weight of the 2 meteorites. Again about 2 inches away the key chain flew to the magnet. Good pulling power.This is what I wanted. Should work fine pulling a small to medium size 200 gram or so iron meteorite up off the ground, plus nails, old horseshoes and other junk to throw away, avoiding me stooping down.I know I could of made the same thing with a broom handle, strong rare earth magnet, an inexpensive compass and material for a lanyard for less than half the price. However this meteorite stick is collapsible and looks really cool. You can tell it was professionally made and not some cheap knockoff. If I have to I'll make others myself for family members to use, but at least I got a professional cool looking one. The Meteorite Stick is not cheap but looks and works great. 5 stars

I received the Meteorite stick on time and very well protected. Very nice packed with instructions an a small flyer about how to identify a meteorite .... a certificate of authenticity of North West Africa 869 meteorite ... very happy with the 4 fragments of this meteorite.The stick is very well constructed .... good material and nice grip. The magnet is not so strong how I was expecting and that was a little dissapointing for me ..... the north west meteorite only stick to the magnet if you touch it but I guess is because of the low NiFe content. My Canyon Diablo meteorite stick very well but is because is full Fe.In general is a good investment if you plan to look for meteorites but it is a little expensive when you add cost plus shipping.

Husband loved it - he hasn't found a meteorite YET, but that hasn't deterred him from continuing to try. Compact, easy to pack (if you are traveling somewhere). Picks up every single metallic item in sight. After a hike in the woods in West Alabama (site of a recent-ish meteor impact), we had a bag full of metallic items (rust, shavings, and who knows what else). Comes with a bag of small meteorites, which is a nice plus. I would highly recommend as a gift or purchase for someone that enjoys hiking and the hunt for rocks from outer space. My geeky husband loves it.

This is a excellent pole which extends for length, a very powerful neodymium magnet and even comes with a free meteorites to test with to get to see what they feel like, as a added bonus they are also REAL! which is great for any collector! It also came with a hand written thank you note which really hit the spot. forget those other 'poles' that have magnets on them they only pick up nails and screws. this one is built to pick up HEAVY space rocks. I am so happy with it and can't wait to take it with me when i travel. I Highly recommend this!! you can't go wrong!! Thank you John!!

I will say this magnet is well made, it has a strong and solid telescoping pole with a very powerful rare earth magnet on the end. I do like to find meteorites but I also go metal detecting for revolutionary and civil war artifacts. This magnet really saves me a lot of time in the field. I would recommend this not only for finding meteorites but to open it up to people that enjoy metal detecting as well. This is a solid product.

After a few Tv shows about finding meteorites I thought about getting a stick! This one is sturdy, well designed tool and the magnet is not some toy! It's a really professional well thought out invention. Magnet is very powerful and one needs to be reminded in our electronic age to keep it away from our gadgets ! It was well packaged and even came with meteorite fragments! Very pleased! While price seemed high, I now feel its worth every cent!

The stick is great. I have a super magnet that I often use and the stick is designed such that I can just magnetically put it on the bottom of the stick for additional strength if I need it. The handle and strap are comfortable. The best though was the experience with the seller, who sent a hand written thank you note along with the free small meteorite as a gift along with the stick. Nice touch and I really appreciated it.

This is a great product, that being said, the handle is a teeny, tin bit flimsy, but overall works for what we need. Worth it
